New Member, need a bit of advice

    Hi Guys,

    Im new to this forum.

I am currently trying to get a much leaner physique and still increase lean muscle. I have read alot of posts and have altered my diet. I would just like some advice on my diet. Is it right? am i way off? what can i fix?

I am 5'8 and weight is 155lb and 22yrs old. I lift about 6 days a week. i left pretty heavy with mimimun rest between sets. and do about 1hr of cardio 3days per week in the form of MMA fighting.

    Currenlty my diet is:

9am - 2 hardboiled eggs, just the whites. two slices of whole weight toast, with a whey protein shake. also take a NO2 product with creatine in it and glutamine. Its called Fast twitch by cytosport

10am - Workout - drink accelerade during workout, its like gaterade but with a bit of whey protein in it on 5grams. It mostly high in carbs. help with muscle recovery, well atleast they say it does.

    (after workout)
11am - Whey protein shake, chicken with brown rice, handfull of almonds also alot of cooked vegtables such as (beans, brocolli, carrots, squash)

12pm - small snack, banana, yougurt with granola

1:30pm - Can of tuna, with brown rice and some vegiies

3pm - Protein bar, with few almonds

4:30pm - Chicken breast with veggies

6:30pm - Consume protein, either chicken or tuna

7:30 - Protein bar or shake

I dont eat after 8pm and i usually go to bed by 11. I train MMA aswell and one of my training partners says he doesnt eat after 8 so i tried this too, He is extremely lean. I try to consume as much protein as I can in my diet. And at each meal i eat until I am full.

Is no eating after 8 good or bad?

Please help. I know diesting is the most crucial part of training. I have stuck with this diet for about 2 weeks now. And have noticed some change. My energy levels are higher. I look a little bit leaner. Also it too ealry to notice changes, or is my diet wrong?????

    PLEASE HELP GUYS AND GALS!!!!!

So far your plan looks like a good starting point. At 5'8" and 155 lbs I would think that a lean bulk would be best...IMHO
With that being said, I would recommend that your diet follow the below guidelines:
    9 AM-Lean protein, starchy carb
    10 AM-Workout
    11 AM-Whey shake, starchy carbs
    12 PM-Lean protein, starchy carbs
3 PM-Lean protein, veggies, healthy fats
6 PM-Lean protein, veggies, healthy fats
8 PM-Low fat cottage cheese, healthy fats

Make sure your drinking ample water...at least 1 gallon a day. With your MMA training I'd add in more carbs for energy.
A multi and fish oil would be a nice addition to your regiment.

thanks for the reply, by starchy carbs you mean more whole grain breads and bagels things along those lines? and no eating after 8 is that a good idea for leaning out still but still alowing me to bulk during the day?
