    Arm Wrestling

As childish as this is going to sound... my buddy, who never works out kicks my ass in an arm wrestle everytime. Im talkin like, ill fight it for about 30 seconds and then boom im down. In the strength department, i got him beat... hes not a tiny person but im just all around stronger. What the hell is it that makes him win everytime? lol... it just doesnt add up... he can curl about 85-90 lbs... i do sets of 145 easy... his forearms are pretty decently sized... not bigger than mine but pretty close to mine.

Any pro arm wrestlers in here wanna spot me some advice? lol...

my boss is a world champion arm wrestler. its not about strength, its technique. and trust me, the technique aspect of it is very difficult to master.

Sorry man no advice here. But I will say one of my good friends dad is a lil skinny dude and has won a few arm wrestling competitions against MUCH bigger guys. He claims it's all in form and grip manipulation. I realize that size does matter to a degree but its just crazy how he beats some of the guys he does. His hand eye coordination is out of this world. He can take glowing red beer bottles out campfires and juggle them. I don't think arm wrestling is a true test of a mans strength. Others may disagree.

my boss has told me stories about breaking guy's arms.

he was armwrestling this one guy and he could feel the guys arm breaking and told this guy 'your arm is breaking,'

the other guy screamed to keep going and my boss broke his arm haha.

bro im a great arm wrestler and believe me its about 85% technique. strength helps but u have to learn how to do it. it is much to hard to type here maybe u can google the technique. only problem is it is very hard on your elbow everytime i get to showin off it screws my workout for about a good week!

Its all technique. Grip first plays a big part. Fast hit off the start and hand/wrist control. Obviously being strong is a plus but not weight lifter strong. Strong hand and wrist is huge in manipulating your opponent. I love the sport because age doesn't matter. Im a Nebraska State games champion L&R arm. Tendon injuries and torsion type twisting breaks is common in the humorous bone though. That goes back to technique to keep that from happening.

Back in college there was a skinny guy that could beat any of us at arm wrestling. It surprised all of us every time. I have to believe also that a good technique is a huge part of it. He always seemed to be able to twist his wrist in a way that gave him an advantage. Of course he had to be strong enough to control his opponents as he did. But you would never have known it by looking at how skinny he was. But that is how any sport is. For example, I love sumo wrestling and the biggest fattest guy does not always win. Sometimes it is the smaller guy with great technique, which is why I love it.

Grip, speed, strategy all play a big part...so if you're in the realm of the same strength and he has better technique he will kill you everytime
