the three essential ps1 games are as follows

1. twisted metal 2 (2 was the best in the series imo, 3 was second best)
2. jet moto 2 (1 is pointless because all 1 levels are included in 2, and 3 was a new game engine I didnt care for)
3. roadrash 3d

those 3 games, I could still easily play today and have a blast

others of note are metal gear, which I never played....resident evil which I really never played.......medal of honor which i did play, duke nukem, the first person shooters just dont compare to todays games

All the Resident Evil games are so kick ass..pretty much the Goldeneye of Playstation, held down the adventure/shooter series for a long,long time.
