    Not Fair

    Lost a close family friend today. He died in a car accident on his way home from the beach. He was only 19 and was truly a good kid. I mean truly a good kid....Just one of those kids that everyone loved, and was always happy. Never did drugs, and was always the life of a party... He was home from college where he was a great student. The sad thing is today was his birthday. My whole family is in shock and I live in a tight nit community, and this really is hitting everyone hard. I'm just at the point now, where I keep saying, this is just not fair. The four other kids in the car are fine, and this happens to him on his birthday. How? Why? I feel for his parents, and can't comprehend how one would deal with such a catastrophe..

    Thanks guys. I am shaken up, but not to the point were I would cry. I would only see him at family gatherings, weddings, birthdays, etc. He was alot younger than me, and was really close to my little sis. But still I just am having a hard time comprehending how as a parent one would deal with such a loss. Burring you child is just not right.. It really makes you appreciate friends and family that much more, cause you never know when they could go. He was on his way home to his birthday party at his parents house !! I guess my point is however corny it may sound, weather your leaving for the day, or going on vacation, always tell the ones you love most you love them, cause you really never know when it could be your last. The first thing his father said, was''I didn't even say good bye to him, or I love him before he left to go to the beach in the morning'' Truly sad>>

    hey bro i feel you i have kids of my own their young but i tell them i love them every day and be carful. that way is somthing happens like that i would feel a little better, but it would never fill the void of them being gone. keep your head up and stay positive. things will workout with the pain.

    I am stunnned.....my condolescences as well.

    If it makes you feel any better....I know in person a similar situation. it wasnt a car crash, but the question of why was asked as well. incomprehensible.

    sorry to hear and my condolences....

    I guess nothing is fair in life...I have lost a 7 yr old child and basically the parents have no chose but to deal with things, but not everything has an immediate answer..... I will say that if you look hard you will find answers to help you move foward.

    You are right about expressing your feelings to your loved ones. You can't do it enough and there is no such thing as over doing it. You never know what tomorrow brings.

    take this tragedy as an opportunity to grow and become a better person.

    i don't know what your faith is...but to goto heaven early and not have to go through the hurt of life is a blessing in many ways. I hope that his family and friends will get through the sadness of having to wait so long to see him again.

    Sorry to hear about your loss. I went through something similar a year ago, one of my best friends growing up had a freak accident and hit his head. He was in a coma for 2 weeks then passed away. The only thing you can do is remember him and the person he was. I've learned to live life to the fullest because you never know when its your time.
