    numb feet during cardio

hey people... this may sound a little weird. i do intense cardio everyday burning up to 2000 cals but i have one problem... about 30minutes into cardio (on the elliptical) my toes and then both feet become completely numb. its a real pain in the ass. Anybody with any ideas of ways to stop this from happening. Perhaps its the shoes im wearing? perhaps i have poor oxygen circulation? ----all suggestions welcome please.

I would say it was poor circulation. Do you have any problems with having cold or numb extremities when not doing cardio? Check you toe nails are the pink and healthy looking? Check capillary refill on your toes, press down on toe nail and watch it blanch white now let go it should quickly return to normal. I have noticed that sometimes when I am doing intense bicep curls that my fingers go numb but return to normal when I put the bar down. I think it is possible to engourge your muscle to the point of restricting circulation.

Another thing, the shoes may be tied too tight. You want them snug/firm but not cinched down all the way as tight as you can get them. If you have been doing that, I would try and loosen them a little 1st before buying new shoes and see what happens.

thanks for all the advice.... ill try another pair of shoes. ill also check finger nails, and toe nails for circulation.
