HELP: Working out like crazy not losing any weight!

Okay folks...I'm having some issues dropping bows.

I'm 25, 230 lbs, 6'1, and I have been working out like crazy for the past month (and majorly changed my diet), but I have not lost even a single pound.

    Workouts as follows:

I workout mon-fri, 30 minutes HIIT cardio on the elliptical (10 minute warmup, 5 sets of 30 second max and 90 second rest, and 10 minute cool down - total of 30 minutes). I then work out one muscle group per day (i.e. chest monday, back tues, shoulders/arms wed, abs thurs, and legs fri) - for this I do average of 5 different excercises - 3 sets of 6 - as heavy as I can do it. I will generally not be able to finish the last set. I'm not feeling sick when I'm done, but I am certainly drenched...

I'm probably 25ish% bf right now. I only taking multivitamin, spirulina, wheat grass, fish oil, whey (3 scoops a day), and desiccated liver tabs.

I feel like I can see some difference in my body (getting a bit tighter), but I really haven't been able to feel much in my clothes, and like I said, the scale is not moving at all.

I'm taking in 150-200g of protein/day - 4-5 meals a day during the week - no way I am taking in more than 2000 calories on these days - probably less than that. I haven't been able to maintain this eating on the weekends, but my weekend eating has certainly improved from what it was.

Losing weight has NEVER been a problem for me before - sometimes I have been able to drop 15 pounds in a month - so I am getting a bit discouraged.

Somebody PLEASE tell me what might be going on! Thanks!

go to the diet section and post this issue. Also post your average daily diet. Make sure to include calorie counts and your personal stats.

do cardio AFTER u work out that way your burning your stored fat, otherwise your just burning the most available energy u have,(which isnt fat).

I can definitely try that - didn't even think about it - will probably let me lift a little bit better as well

i agree with ray lift first, cardio second. also it would boost your metabolism more if you could eat at least 6 clean meals at day in 2-3hr intervals. also dont forget that you could be gaining muscle and loosing fat at the same time so use the mirror not just the scale for feedback. when you do use the scale weigh yourself at the same time everyday for consistancy.good luck.

If you just started lifting then your body mass is likely changing. Fat to muscle...

Quit weighing yourself and ask a trainer at the gym to measure your BF with a caliper. That should now be your gauge.

He would also be losin muscle along with fat. His proteins are pretty low.

Its impossible NOT to lose weight. Care to test me?

For 1 week drink only protein shakes and grilled chicken breast w/o any salt.
get your 200-300g protein but no carbs or fat. (excluding fish oil)

If you keep working out 3-4x that week with cardio 3x for 40mins you'll lose at minimum 2-4 lbs.

I cut water w/o steam room/running in a bag and Lost 10 lbs but in 4 days.

So I advise to you. add some veggies only and some other clean meat, like tuna/fish to your Protein only diet, and you'll lose 4 lbs fat a week for sure.

All you gotta do is do iT! Whats holding you back.

I think this guy want's to drop fat mate, not water.

Without seeing your diet it's impossible too tell why you aren't dropping weight. But as is previously said you may be dropping fat and gaining muscle. Diet is close to 90% of the equation though.

only 30 minutes of cardio with a ten minute cool down, that means when your body finally gets into catabolic state at around 20 minutes of cardio you are stop....you need to cardio for atleast 45 minutes, more preferably 60 minutes...and there has to be something wronge with your diet, you have to decrease your caloric intake...looseing weight isn't a science, especially if you are not worried about looseing fat..and at 25% body fat you should be dropping weight pretty easily
