    Hit a bone while injecting

I know this may sound like a stupid ass question and I hope I don't get flamed too much but has anyone every "hit" a bone while injecting. The reason I'm asking this is because I know on areas like the deltoid and glutes there is a lot of muscle tissue but also a bone underlying it even though it may be deep.

Is this has happened to you before, what was the outcome?

hmmm, ive tried to, never been able to do it. did 1.5 inch on delts + lats all the way in and nothing. Probably be able to hit something with a 1.5 on the pec, but anyone of sound mind wouldnt try it.

Neither can i, but there is such thing as intra-osteal injection. Theres also an injection directly into the brain cavity, cant remember the name though. Just stick that needle right behind the ear on an upward angle...

I dont have a bad attitude, i just dont see why someone would want to inject deep enough to hit a bone, unless they absolutey needed to....Without doing it, i already know it is going to be painful.....

Ok well let me clarify. I wasnt attempting to hit a bone, but i had it in mind that it was possible.

It's a nonissue. If you do hit bone than you just need to take the needle back. In order to perform an intraosseous injection, there needs to be quite a lot of pressure placed, and I doubt you are using an appropriate needle for that. No worries
