    6 Days A Week/Body Part A Day = Overtraining?

I recently switched back from for a 3-day split to a 6 day/one body part split. I was talking about this with someone and he told me that he believed it to be overtraining.

Anyway, thanks for the response. To me more specific, I do 3 exercises at 4 sets of 8-10. Occasionally, I add a 4th at 2 sets of 10. My current split is Chest/Biceps/Shoulders/Triceps/Legs/Back/Rest. Occasionally I put the day of rest somewhere in the middle. My diet is clean.

Does anyone here have any thoughts on this issue?

    Thanks.

I train 5 on 1 off especially when trying to get ripped. If it works for you then good but if your body feels over worked give it extra rest time and days off when needed.

Everyone is different, whats overtraining for one works best for another.

    Thanks, guys.

Basically, I just found it hard to get geared up and then fit in a split routine. I find it's more convnient and efficient for me to just lift each day at this point.

I may change try changing back again now that I have time off work and am starting my first cycle. We'll see.

Personally, 6 days is too much for me. But your schedule doesn't look bad though. You have a day for bi's and tri's, so you're in and out relatively quickly. The only thing i'd change would be the legs and tri's days. Looks good though.

looks good! Im currently working myself more than one body part week at times.

    1# chest/triceps/hiit
    2# shoulders/cardio
    3# back/biceps/hiit
    4# legs

I have two days off whenever I want during the week. I do cardio instead on those days. Then I start over again before the end of the week. In this example, I would do chest/triceps again before the week was up. I get at least 6 days of rest per body part.

Remember to change up your routine after awhile. After 6 weeks, is good general time frame.
