is a 3on 1 off good for mass

i was wondering if a 3 on 1 off good for putting on mass? something sort off like this heaVY LIFTS CONSISTING OF 5-8 REPS 4/5 SETS

    mon:chest/bi /tri
    tues : legs
    wend: back/shoulders
thurs: off an repeat the following day BUT WITH LIGHTER WEIGHT CONSISTING OF 4 SETS IN THE 12-20 REP RANGE ...

ANY INPUT WILL BE REALLY HELPFUL...

I think you have to find what works best for you, myself I have to work six days a week but one of my old training partners never got anywhere like that.

He worked out each muscle group once a week and got huge, lucky bastard

I agree. Find what's best for you. But i have done a routine very similar to the one you mentioned and i liked it. I went heavy for 2 weeks then light for 1, then repeat. For chest i did 5x5 when going heavy.

Yeah, i think you have to find what works best for you, i have tried many different programs and am currently doing a 1 on 1 off program and that is working very well for me at the moment. EXPERIMENT to find whats best for you.

Oh i am on a bulking program, 1 muscle group a day, 9-12 exercises per group, 6-12 reps pending exercise, and all to failure dropping weight with each set, i also change the exercises every month.
