    Exclamation OBESE truck driver!!!!!!!

Actually, it should say very obese truck driver.Hey guys, I'm a 33 year old OTR driver, 5'10.5" tall and weigh about 380 lbs.I say about because last time I went to the doctor their scale didn't go that high.Basically I'm posting to see if anybody would be kind enough to try and make me an actual diet that is doable out here on the road. Here is my situation, I stay out on the road at least a month and a half at a time, work 70 to 90 hours a week, and sleep very little so I'm all messed up!I have recently undertaken the challenge of trying to lose the fat once again and I came across this site by accident and checked it out and like it.So I have some nanovapor, anabolic halo, nitro tech, a jug of whey, hydroxycuts, and arimatest,.....let the laughter commence, lol, ok, now, I also have 45lb, 35lb, and 25lb dumbells with me and I use them and have started walking 30 minutes just about every other night, sometimes more.I know what I need to do as far as exercise to lose the weight, it's the diet that I am lost on.Well, not necessarily lost just not completely filled in.Right now I am "trying" to eat this type of meal each day:

Breakfast:Oatmeal with raisins, 3 eggs well done or boiled when I can get them that way, 2 slices of wheat toast dry.

Snack:Protein shake of 40 grams protein

Lunch: Footlong veggie sub on wheat with baked lays or chicken caesar salad or some type of grilled chicken sandwich or grilled chicken in a wrap

Snack:Protein shake of 40 grams of protein

Dinner:Protein shake of 40 grams of protein or a protein bar of 30 grams of protein

I know this is nowhere near as healthy or strict as what some of you guys do but for me it's not bad since all that is available to me out here is fast food or greasy spoon diners. So here's the deal, I don't eat fish or beef or pork, and like I said, what is available to me out here is the following:Wendy's,Mcdonalds,Subway, Taco bell,Pizza Hut,KFC,Arbys,Burger King, etc. What makes it hard as well is that I cannot stick to any type of schedule or routine because it's the nature of my job.Been doing this for only a week and I already feel better but would like any advice or diets if anybody has any that are practical for someone in my situation.Thnx in advance!

Okay, I calculated your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) which is basically the amount of calories you'd need to take in per day based on your body stats and what I'm guessing your physical activity is like. Your total would be 3199 calories per day to stay in the shape you are.

I would knock off 200-300 calories from that (2899-2999) and go from there for a daily caloric allotment. I'd try to break it up and have a diet with a ratio of 45/35/20 (protein/carbs/fat). Healthy carb sources should be slow digesting (examples: oats(not instant), yams, sweet potatoes, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread (Ezekiel is excellent if you can find it), green veggies, brown rice). Fruit is alright, but not the best option to choose all the time. I'd go with no more than 3-4 pieces per day and would try and stick to apples, berries, or grapefruit. Healthy fat sources include: avocado, organic peanut butter, nuts, virgin olive oil, salad dressing, fish oil, salmon (also for protein)). It's advisable to lose the whey shakes other than your post workout shake and have a real protein source (i.e. something you eat). Get your veggies too (where possible) and stay hydrated!

Several basic things that will help you out: you need to eat more meals

I'd break it down like this:
    Meal 1 500 calories
    Meal 2 400 calories
    Meal 3 400 calories
    Meal 4 400 calories
    Meal 5 500 calories (PWO)
    Meal 6 400 calories
    Meal 7 300 calories

    Equates to 2900 calories

I understand that you have only fast food available sometimes. I think Subway is your best bet, but many fast food chains have nutrition facts at the site locations now. I'd stock up on those pamphlets and see what your best option is. Also alot of the worst stuff at those places is in the bread, so for example a grilled chicken sandwich or two w/out the bread and/or mayo is not too bad... Order a side salad and a side of fruit and there you go... Not great, but it won't ruin you either. Also if you have access to groceries along the way stock up on non-perishables and plan ahead as best you can. A food scale is very helpful as well so you know exactly what you're taking in. I use an electronic scale that runs on a 9-volt battery.

Good luck I hope this helps...

First, I have to admit that I am not a doctor or expert. But I do have some practical experience that might be of interest. This is meant for you personally, and it doesn't apply to everyone.

Everybody's body is different, and every personality is different. But it is possible that if you are truly dedicated, then some of my advice might help you, because I have seen it help a friend of mine who was in your EXACT situation, I mean EXACT age, height, weight, and career.

My buddy tried to lose weight, & he struggled. In the end, he took my advice, and it worked. Basically, I advise a diet that is going to drop your weight, and then you can resume a more normal/healthy diet. But for a time, you might have to have an unhealthy diet, in order to get a healthy weight.

I know some people would argue this, but it is a fact, because I have lived it. First of all, one way to lose weight that is very unhealthy, is to just starve yourself. Is it healthy? No. But does it work? yes. Of course you will feel lethargic and be unhappy, but it can be done.

A better way, that my 400 lb buddy proved, was the atkins style no carb diet. My buddy lost half of himself. He lost so much weight, that all his tatoos and skin drooped and he had a big flap of skin that just hung over his waist, because all his belly fat had disappeared.

He did not starve himself, and in fact, he even continued drinking alcohol and partying. He just ate all meats and no (or very little carbs). For booze, he would drink gin. He did complain of some symptoms at first, but I told him to get a good multivitamin, especially one with VITAMIN C, because without it, you will bruise easily, and get scurvy, etc.

If you do the no carb diet, it will work, and you will see results after just a few weeks, when ketosis begins. You don't even have to be picky. My buddy ate all kinds of meat and sausage, and he loved it. Women tend to love carbs and big buns and breads, so most women can't follow this. But guys tend to be carnivores, and we love our meats more than all that bread.

If you only have access to fast food, then try picking off all the bread and carbs. Many fast food places have protein on hand, but they just tend to add a bunch of carbs with it. If you are sitting driving a truck all day, then carbs are your enemy. Sugar etc is terrble. Drink your coffee black, caffeine will boost your metabolism, and ephedrine also will help your body burn more even while you are sitting.

It can't hurt to give this a shot. I know it works. You don't even have to be too concerned about how much you eat, as long as you are NOT eating carbs. But again, don't continue this forever. Just do it long enough to reach your goals, and then slowly introduce some carbs back into your diet in small amounts.

^^^ Youre talking about the all "MANS DIET"

    And btw, it can hurt...

My advice for the TS, is 86 ALL fast food from you diet. I know you cannot get to a gym, but start with walks and slight jobs for 1hr a day EVERYDAY!

My friend was EXTREMELY OBESE at one point he actually weighed 455lbs.

Today hes down to 290lbs, still a fat SOB, but in much better shape.

I would even consider seeking a medical professionals help when looking for a diet and training routine.

I would suggest some "fat cutters", but in all honesty, i dont think it would be healthy for someone of your Bf% and weight.

Like i said, seek out the advice of a medical professional.

Thnx fit4ever, if I can switch to a local driving job where I can utilize the majority of this I know it will help, thnx for the info.As far as starving myselfgoes, that's not really an option for me and I definitely don't want all that loose skin, but thnx anyways.

i did the atkins diet and it does work...BUT if you don't change your lifestyle all together even after you lose the weight , you will put it all right back on. I myself have done it and i have seen others do it as well. also the weight falls off so fast that you do end up with loose skin if you don't what i like to call it " regulate weight loss." Jump off the diet at least once a week for some fruit and a decent meal. Don't be afraid to do induction ( less then 20 carbs) for about two weeks to kick start what ever diet you will do. gl with the weight loss bubba :-) i am on the same train your on.

I notice someone suggested the atkins diet.... I am currently doing the Ketos diet and it does work I have lost 15 lbs alrady in three weeks that is much more than I have lost with all other diets.

I would suggest you doing the Atkins or like I call it Ketos diet. Try it out for a few weeks or a month if you dont see any weight loss in a month then change it to something else.

PM me if you want my current ketos diet I am doing.

I was 347 in feb of this year and so far I am down to 290 stick to dieting bro dont give up I know how hard it is to loose weight but its all about a trial and miss.

but I think that you would like and benefit from the ketos diet.
