    trap bar

hey do you all think that using the trapbar for deadlifts is ok instead of using a regular barbell? Because I like using it alot more and I find myself having much better form with it than with the barbell. because with the barbell i tend to wack my shins on the way up which is quite uncomfortable when your lifting a good bit of weight lol

Whatever you find works for you I would say go with. I used to do deads with the regular old barbell, but now I actually use a Hammer Strength machine that is designed for shrugs (I think) and it works great. I can get a better range of motion.

I still do sumo deads on occasion with a barbell though.

o ok thanks. Do you think it would be better to use it on my legs, shoulders, and traps day or back, biceps, and forearm day?

I use a trap bar for deads. I'm a little injury prone in lower back area and a normal bar adds to the problem.

The trap bar doesn't work the lower back as hard as you are pulling the weight straight up instead of up and back. Works the legs a little more than traditional deads too, which has helped with my squatting weight.

ive started using the trap bar more now and im loving it. I have been using it on shrugs too, but im not sure if it is as effective or not so i might go back to doing normal barbell shrugs instead
