I respect that, Kratos. I just take issue with people accusing ALL blacks of voting for Obama simply because they share a racial commonality. The few black members of this forum have never gone to extesive lengths (like Deputy Dumb Dumb) to prove all whites who aren't voting for Obama are doing so because of his race. Both sides have acknowledged that there are members of each race who will vote/not vote because of race but the vast majority is voting/not voting primarily based on issues.

I am interested/confused by the other 5% and I would like to know why they would support McCain. I am not so interested in the the other 95% opinions at this point.

I am not interested in the opinion of a white wealthy midwestern elderly evangelical either, unless they are supporting Obama. Then I would be interested/confused by that person and I would like to know why they would be supporting Obama.

i dont know enough about powell, however i saw an interview with him and was surprised how articulately he spoke and he was all about his morels and values as he made ever decision. not just a puppet to be told what to do... sounded like a good leader

If we wait around for the right one to come along, we would never go to the voting booth. They are politicans and they will say whatever you want to hear to have your vote. What they actually do is a gamble!

Maybe if Clinton did something after al Qaeda bombed the World Trade Center in 1993, bombed two American embassies in East Africa in 1998, and nearly sank the USS Cole in Yemen in 2000 things could have been different. They're might not have been a 9/11, a patriot act, a war on terror, or a war in Iraq. Clearly we needed more military action from our comander and chief then lobing a few cruise missles into Afghanistan. I don't know if this would be offensive to say, but I do think blacks have a gift when it comes to oratory. The way Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Farrakhan, etc. speak is amazing. I mean, Farrakhan spouts complete nonsense, so on substance he gets a zero, but on delivery he gets an A+. I don't know, this is a stereotype but hopefully a positive one...like in our Islamic congregations, the black preachers are always the most inspiring in their oratory.

We are all products of our environment and experiences. When you grow up hearing these type stereotypes you tend to get defensive when you hear it. Just like you tend to get defensive when Christianity is being assaulted or negative stereotypes are brought up, I can say the same in matters of race.

well, as i do understand your point... we have to let go of those things, i was the only white kid in the back neighborhood... three things happen i got chased alot and became very fast!!! i got caught sometimes and got beat up really bad!!! then i stopped running and started to kick so a##!!! and i would say for sure i was prejudice, and deathly afraid of back kids my age... i even justified it by saying look at me and what i have been through. then i owned a company in my mid twenties that delt with inner city stores, i was pistol whipped, robbed by gun point, ran over by cars, gun stuffed in my mouth, hit with 40s, shoot at, and every time it was people with dark skin... and i was pissed off and young and geared up, i am generally a person who likes to fight and gear made that so much easier for me to justify doing(fighting) and some where along the way i just sat down and said i cant go around being fearful of black people... so i started to not take the people who did bad things to me a the "only" black people out there... you know what i mean??? like, i had seen the worst of society not the average person out there with dark skin... and i let all the pain and fear go...

btw - i actually have a black friend now!!! (--- just kidding there, joke.

i have lots of close friends that have dif skin colors... so, i know how people feel and if you or they have a story similar to mine (and a lot of us do...)my advise would be dont hold the whole responsible for the few...
