    Bad gas!

I have been experiencing very bad gas. Gas that hurts if you try to hold it in. I have thought that it might be related to the amount of protein I eat but I am not sure. Have you guys had similar experiences and if so what have you done?

I personally think the gas is funny but when you cant hold it in it becomes a real pain!

What's your diet like? Have you changed it recently? Are you taking any supplements?

No such thing as bad gas. Ripping farts is one of my favorite pass times.

Look at your diet, but if it remains a preblem after diet changes you could look at charcoal tablets (heard that you should not take them while taking oral steriods though)

I know a few people that have taken charcoal and it did stop the farts, but please lets look at your diet first, petter to prevent than treat>>>>

Yea I get bad gas to where it feels like I have to crap but I just fart on the toilet.

Check your protein to see if it has fiber in it, that's what does it for me.

@ least he doesn't have the kinda gas where he thinks it's just gas, then craps in his pants. LOL. That's the worst.

I fart almost every damn minute of my waking day, and I am telling you it hurts badly if I try to hold it. I think farting is the funniest thing but this is getting uncomfortable. My diet has not changed either but here it is, or a rough idea anyway.

    Breakfast
    cup of whole oats.
2 egg whites, plus two whole eggs
a bagel with whole natural peanut butter
    green tea
    multivitamin
occasionally a glass of 2% milk
    flax seed oil

    1rst snack

    3/4 cup of rice
    chicken breast
    green beans
bit of onions and carrots ( cut up in to the rice while cooking )
    broccoli some times

Lunch is the same as above.

    2nd Snack
can of tuna spread over two sandwiches. Bread is whole wheat.

Dinner is often very late ( 9pm )because my work sucks ballz!

It is either chicken, steak, salmon, or catfish for protein. Either small amount of rice or another slice of bread.
    Bannana
Flax oil again now that I am home.

I then workout so I have whey protein after that. An hour or two after the whey I am getting ready for bed so I will mix up a scoop of casein protein and have some more flax oil.

Thats bout it. One of those meals might get replaced by pasta but that is once in a while.

I'd recommend adding 2-3 more servings of veggies throughout your day, and I know you won't like this, but possibly drop the casein. CASEIN is a tenacious glue. Eighty-seven percent of milk is water. Four percent of the remaining thirteen percent is CASEIN. You may have a milk allergy.

I can drink milk, but when I started taking casein I started having awful sleep patterns, and some symptoms of allergy. It's really not healthy for you, IMO. GL with everything.

Interesting! You are right bout that I didnt want to hear it, mainly because I love milk!

Do you think the whey would also cause problems? I mean it comes from milk as well. If so what would you suggest as a post workout shake if whey is a no go.

    farting rules.

if i knew what would make me fart more, i'd consume more of it.

for me, protein shakes do it ...which is why i only have one a day, PWO

^more beans, broccoli, or anything rough does the trick for me. Actually, I might start eating beans and broccoli together to see what happens.

Since whey rapidly increases protein synthesis and casein blocks protein breakdown, a combination of both would be ideal. In that case, might as well just drink good old fashioned Milk.

Whey is a by-product of cheese production; it has been discovered that whey supplements can help regulate and reduce spikes in blood sugar levels among people with type 2 diabetes by increasing insulin secretion.

Acidophilus a couple of times a day. Also go to Specs or any major liquor store and pick up a product called "Bitters". Its the single most potent remedy for painfull, doubling over GI sypmtoms. I use it a lot when I need to keep gas down at competitions. I tablspoon and you should be cured.
The acidophilus is a probiotic and will help with your digestion. Often this will do the trick completely.

If you want to continue to drink milk, pick up Lactaid or Mootopia which are lactose free products
