    The irony is that taking the Lords name in vain is not using it as a cussword, it is doing things in His name that aren't from Him. USing the NAme for your own progress or profit.     I agree. A lot of people (religious or not) take religious texts LITERALLY. IMO, a lot of the writings in holy books are actually metaphors.
