The death of a child--no matter what religion--is a travesty. What crime did the child commit? And we know that children of that age are sinless.
Yet, are we supposed to forgive a brutal occupation which has killed hundreds and hundreds just because of this incident? Is the occupier and the occupied somehow equal? If a Jew killed a German child during World War II, then would this somehow make the Nazis and Jews equal? Could we somehow say that the issue is not one-sided?
As for the ceasefire, CNN has confirmed that it was the Israelis who broke the truce:

This tactic--of riling up others against the occupied peoples--was also used by the American pioneers against the Native Americans. In order to justify the genocide of the Native Americans, the newspapers and media in America at the time would publish stories of women and children that were scalped by Native Americans. Yes, these events did happen, but they were published without balance and perspective.
The occupier is ALWAYS wrong.
