First Seizure Letter, HELP!!!

A friend of a friend just had this happen to them and asked for advice. I was gonna copy and paste here for you guys to read but too much personal info on it so ill describe it. Pack got seized and next day got letter, pretty damn fast since most people say it can be 3 months before letter. It is also 2 white pages, no yellow seizure letter that most say they get. This one is from New York. Outline:
Header says "Informed Compliance Notice for Imported Controlled Substances
Description: " 1 Envelope Containing Anabolic steroids"
This is to notify you that blah blah blah, im sure you guys can imagine all the mumbo jumbo crap they say pretty saying they got it and its illegal. Next page is more concerning to my friend. It is titled:
"Election of Proceedings for Imports of Controlled Substances"
Check only one of the following elections:
1. I agree to voluntarily abandon the imported controlled substances.
I understand that by voluntarily abandoning the controlled substances i am waiving any rights and interests relative to the property, including the right to contest the actions taken by CBP or file any claims for the return of the property.
2. I request that CBP commence seizure proceedings.
I understand that by requesting seizure i am asking CBP to institute a formal legal process to allow me to contest the non-release of controlled substances in which i have an interest. In making this election, i understand that i must provide evidence of a written authorization from the DEA to import the controlled substances to obtain relief from seizure.
Now common sense would say option 1 correct? My friend doesn't want to get in any trouble obviously so what should he do? He was thinking of either:

A. Check option 1
B. Type up a letter stating how he wants nothing to do with this package and saying how he was never expecting any package and takes no responsibility for package and pretty much they can destroy package since he has no interest in it.
C. Do nothing and shred these letters like nothing ever happened.
Im thinking if he chooses C that they might make matters worse. Now as far as the gear goes the source is very professional and understanding and already sending to a clean mail addy.
This is where it gets more complicated:
My friend is also expecting 2 more packages in the mail which are already on their way to same mail addy as this one got seized from. These 2 packages are also from 2 totally different sources and in the past has had success with these 2 separate sources. Also, these 2 packs are much smaller than the one currently seized. Should my friend now worry about the other 2 packs getting seized and if so would things get worse for my friend concerning legal problems? All 3 packs are in same name and address as well. Would maybe his address get listed or do they not keep track of addresses that get seized so if one or both of the other 2 packs on their way get seized would CBP put 2 and 2 together making matters worse for my friend?
This is im sure the worst thing any of us can imagine but it is happening and my friend would like some advice from anyone who has actually had a pack seized from the states or even a situation like this where more packs are already on their way from 2 different sources to the same addy!

1. They won't be "watching" his mail address, that is impossible. Custom gets thousands of packages its not like they search for certain address' when packages come.

It is possible when his package gets "scanned" it might show he has had one offense of importing controlled substance.

But no one here knows how Customs checks packages for sure...

2. He should send them to a different address if he can

3. Getting caught three times in 2 weeks won't lead to any big problems if the packages are small. Customs gets **** like this everyday and sometimes they just throw your stuff away and forget about it, or destroy it and notify you on their own time (hence why it takes some people 3 months to find out) they don't like filling out paperwork and the usual.

i know someone, (really well), that had an ordered shipped in two seperate packages and both were sent to the same address. not sure on the time frame but both were seized. this person got two seperate letters with the same verbage as you described. can't say whether they were caught at the same time or if one flagged the addy and caused the second one to get caught. the letters came at the same time about four weeks after the order was made.

Ill let my friend know to contact the other 2 sources asap and see if they haven't mailed out the packs yet to get a new mail addy. Some members on this board have gotten 5+ seziure letters. And they are fine.

IMO you must either get caught with alot of steroids or import raw materials or be a habitual offender to gather the attention of law enforcement.

Just wasn't sure if he had to change mail addy for other 2 packs being mailed out or not. Guess better safe than sorry so will use new mail addy for other 2 packs if he has time if not already shipped. Thanks again!

You may have read my thread a few days ago, I got the same letter the other day... You simoly dont respond. Change your addy or your friends I should say. Switch names and use a womans if possible. Customs isnt going to screw aorund with small amounts

Again, One of my packs made it and the other did not make it. They were sent three days apart with same name

just get rid of the letters and dont do anything, just bc something illegal was sent to you doesnt mean you purchased it ( we know you did) hypothetically what if you had an ex gf and she was trying to get you introuble and had somehting sent to your house? it was sent to you but not purchased by you.....dont worry you wont get in trouble, the only way you would get caught is if it is delievered to your house and you sign for the package thats saying its yours.....ive gotten a couple seizure letters and everytime the post office left me one of those yellow cards saying sorry we missed you come pick up your letter from u.s. customs and i never did and nothing ever happaned, if youre that nervous or your friend is stop ordering gear from over seas and buy it locally

customs is not interested in the people who buy small amounts of illegal substances for personal use, they arent going to bust you they will just seize your package and get rid of it or do whatever they do with it, they are interested in the big dogs who traffic large amounts of gear that we could only wish we had

i've heard of people just getting a customs letter like regular mail and others getting it certified. u said that u got a couple certified. is there a difference??

no idea like i said i wasnt home when the mailperson came to drop off the letter and they left a yellow card stating it was a letter from u.s. customs and to come pick them up and i just never did and never heard anything and this was probably about 6 months ago, they tried dropping off the letter a couple times and i was never there for it eventually they stopped trying

np whenever i get a seizure letter i do nothing with it and leave it alone, and never sign for a package thats how they get you, in the rare instance they drop off a package and ask you to sign say i didnt order anything bc if you dont sign then they dont have proff you ordered it.....lose out on some money and gear its better than jail

Yeah, but usuually registered mail is the one that comes with a tracking number.

So if you go with unregistered mail, your source will delay it as long as possible (1+ month) before he might reship because he could claim its just taking long to get there, however with registered mail it gets there in a certain time frame and you have a tracking number it doesnt show up you got proof and they have to ship there **** quick.

Thus you don't have to go through customer service and you get your **** quickly resent.

One pack is busted and there are many more sitting is customs from the same country, packaged inthe same way??? I think my source might need to throw a different pitch. Now I'm getting nervous. They throw them away, its not like they keep a database of packages to look at.

310+ million people live in this country, I think people forget that. They make customs to be some all knowing impenetrable being.

If your source sends ****ty packaging then customs will catch on sooner or later. Most change it up if they get alot of their packages seized over time.

Did anyone think of this...I got a letter that looked to me to be a photo copy of the us customs letterhead but my name n address looked to be of original ink. Maybe some of these jackoffs that are ripping people off have an accomplice in the us like chicago ,where my letter came from, who are mailing these fake letters out to people in hopes that we will just forget about the shit n not persue having the products reshipped cuz those letters have scared the shit out of us. So they just scared us into letting them rip us off n not persueing any further action!! Just a thought!!!
