Does your roller hockey play with a rubber puck or ball? I've played in both before.

we use a puck it seems like its hard plastic and its got like tiny little wheel things on it that make it slide nice across the surface, i cant explain it really lol im pretty sure its standard though in most roller hockey leagues as I play in 2 different buildings and they use the same thing

Reebok 5Ks are very good skates but skates are very personal. You have to try it and see how it fits and supports the ankle, flexiblity, width, weight, etc.

I bought some Nike/Bauer they are light as hell.

I tried them on ... they fit fine ... but I haven't taken them to the ice yet.

I'm also debating on whether I should get them baked .... or just break them in the old fashioned way.

I did them old fashioned way. It took maybe 4-5 games but Im into them now. I have heard that for those having trouble breaking them, then baking helps.

Usually its the foot width area, definitely you can only tell only in a game situation.

Yeah ... once I get them sharpened I'll take them to a few open ice and/or stick-n-puck sessions.

If they still don't feel right ... then I'll probably go ahead and get them baked.

Prada .... what hollow do you like on your skate ?

you should go with 1/2 inch
I find 5/8 goes dull to fast and its mostly for the pros

Well like I said since I'm enjoying defense, I tend to have shallower hollow or less hollow. The more "bite" they have the better for wingers and centerman bc they tend to often go in linear direction. So they need the deep cuts but me no because I need to pivot and pivot real fast and too sharp doesnt let me fluidly pivot. One of the advantages of being heavy is also it help into "digging" into the ice. Then again its all a question of taste. But yeah judge it based on the position you play and style.

Nice to know .... I'm gonna go with 5/8 cut and see how that works for me. Then I'll stick with it or get another sharpening with a different hollow.

Yeah man, its subjective. Some will contradict my arguments but then again Im the one skating so...it all comes down to personnel preference.
