    Self mutilation

    Hey guys i need you help. Sorry its such a morbid topic but i just found out a friend has been involved in self mutilation for a while. I saw him in the act and he came out and told me the whole story. Is there anyone here that does this aswell i need some advice on how to help him. He says no doctors or nethin will understand. Thanks guys.

    i dont do it ...but i know its just like an addiction ...and is treated very similarly ....he needs professional help .... mental health professionals see and deal with this more than you would think....

    I would say that's something you need to talk to him about. He needs someone close to him to explain it. I've had a friend in the same situation and professional help only made it worse. Try pulling him aside and talking to him one on one. If that doesn't work then you can try other methods of help.

    I have a friend that started cutting himself while in the military, they first told him to grow up and he would be fine. the he got help outside the military and found out he was punshing himself. It was a sign of guilt it almost led him to suicide. I would say do not wait around with this and get him help asap....he was on meds for about three years and now doing great and owens his own gym...good luck
