am i right in thinking that u can take the fibre content of a food off the carb content?
e.g. something has say 10g carbs and 8g fibre. does this mean it only has 2g of usuable carbs and the other 8gs are undigestable.
thanks

I would like to know this as well. I have heard that you can subtract the number of grams of dietary fiber from the carb total to give you the net carbs, but I am unsure if this is true.
I have some whole grain carb wraps that say they have a net 10g of carbs after you subtract the 20g of fiber from the total carb amount of 30g.
I would like to know as well...all i eat is whole wheat, or double fiber bread for my meals
i don't take it out. a gram of fiber still gives you about 3 cals to work with. so they DO have an impact. I see no point in differentiating between my (few) carb choices.
I don't subtract from the total based on fiber... It seems to me like it would be a gimic by companies to try and make there product appear healthier to the general public
fiberous foods like most green vegies dont count, it takes mare cals to breakdown these vegies than you get from them....
dont count fiberous vegies in your carb count, eat heaps of them as they help transport protiens
