    Bread, total crapparuni?

Well I have to eat my fear share of bread now'adays, on a really tight budget and my mother always has bread lying around, how bad is it really, if I am trying to build muscle?

The bread is dark, so there is a bit of fiber in the mix.

I think about people bulking up on pasta an the like, aren't bread and pasta the same shit really? flower, isnt that all that is to it?

My carb sources for the days are:

    Oatmeal 2x
    Bread 2x
    Pasta 1x
    Carb powder 1x (training days)

Look the the ingredients on the back of the bag.
Is the first ingredient "Whole grain Flour"?

Or is it "Enriched" or "bleached" flour?

If it's the former then it's not bad bread. The latter, you could be doing better. Personally I stick with my Ezekiel bread!

well for teh life of me i CANNOt find the cited literature, i've sent a few PM's looking for it. but to my memory. potatoes for the human provide a continuous small elevation in insulin (because above a threshold, insulin begins to target fat cells. your body's ability to use/assimilate potatoes is among the highest in the carbohydrate category. along with it's complexity and low GI, potatoes, contribute to glycogen replenishment. also, many people have allergies to many other carb choices (grains, dairy, bread/gluten/wheat flour, but if my memory serves me correctly they do not in regard to "tubers".

without the relevant info, i am reaching here with my memory. but when i get the lit. i will provide it.
