I would do it for a mil. I have been skydiving before and that was pretty good times. I was supposed to base jump once but the weather was shitty... I guess base jumping is a little harder because there is less reaction time due to the shorter distance.

I'm not sure what this dude was doing or the idea behind the cable... if the cable was his fail-safe then it was a bad idea because it would have snapped him in half.
