    Effectiveness of milkthistle

    Well is it as effective as people want it to be, for detoxing the liver?

    Some cultures swear by it. I haven't seen any studies on it.

    Iv'e never felt the need to use it, my bloods are always fine even on a blast with orals, personally i wouldn't waste my money.

    i swear by it .... the only good thing i did without knowing about AAS..... i ran 20weeks orals, milk thisle 1g daily and my liver is perfect

    I have no studies to back anything up positive or negative, but it is hard to believe an organic compound like it would have much bioavailability in the body after digestion..

    try posting in the supplement forum for better exposure

    It's doesn't hurt that the liver regenerates itself, milk thistle probably aids in the speed at which it regenerates.

    How would you know your liver is fine?

    Not that I disagree with your opinion of your liver. But your AST and ALT levels are not "liver health".

    I've had doctors tell me that milk thistle does not live up to it's hype whatsoever. I know someone with hepatitis c that is on all kinds of supplements recommended by her doctor. Milk Thistle was not one of them...

    ive had liver values done from bloodwork every month since then and the doctor has said everytime your liver is perfect
