What is the best HOME GYM?

    Hey guys and gals,

Wife is prego and i need to stay home more..so i want to start working out at home...bought a eliptical yesterday for 2500.00...now want to build a state of the art gym at home.

Can anyone advise me what the best home equipment would be?...i am serious about training ...should i get the universal machine?or get seperate machines?hack squat, bench, lats?leg press?..im so confused i dont really have the space for sperate machines unless i go to the garage..which i dont want to.it gets cold in the winter.

So any advice on a good home gym...?

    Thanks in advance.

You can work out your entire body with just a bench, barbells, and dumbells. It all depends how much room you have and how much you want to invest.

    Hello hankdiesel,

I have a hoist rack its pretty decent, although one of those hooks is flaring out a bit, I probabaly let the weight down too hard over time while benching.

Powerblocks are pretty decent for adjustable dumbells 90lbs and you can get a 130lb atachment. Their adjustable in incriments of 2.5lbs

For back you can do bent over rows, dumbell rows parralel with bench/upright, chins ups etc

For legs back/ front squats, lunges etc

edit I don't really use those safety clips they come off in case you guys are wondering

Free weights are the way to go. Don't bother with some stupid universal home gym machine.

Bent over rows, one arm dumbell rows, t-bar rows, deadlifts /Back
Lunges, dumbells squats, stiff-legged deadlifts, and a lot of benchs come with a leg extension /Legs
You don't need anything besides barbells and dumbells for this.
