Earning a living as a trainer

I really need to know if this is possible to sustain a household/family on the income full time trainer makes. Im commissioned only and it sucks sometimes not to receive a "real" paycheck. My son decided to become a trainer and he is managing a gym. Pay doesn't seem great although he is the head trainer and also makes money signing people up.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

It depends,,,,my daughter is doing it now while she is in college and she is doing real good........If you get into the right gym you can do real good......
