is it bad to mix boxing with bodybuilding? such as, will it cause your muscles to not get enough rest, especially shoulders, leading to overtraining?

it's just not physically possible to be dedicated to both IMO.....almost a conflict of interests. I've tried to do MMA and bodybuilding at the same time and its just impossible.
The level of dedication needed to exceed in either is about all one can take again IMO however the level of cardio involved in boxing will keep you lean and with a good diet you may be able to lean out and put on a little lean muscle
-Note: Resistance training is beneficial in boxing, mma, etc. My post is based on bodybuilding as a sport in itself.
i mean im not trying to get in to boxing as a sport i just wanna hit a bag in my garage as some cardio and for fun
I have been doing this once a week

good just to do something from the usual aspects of cardio i.e running, cycling etc
