Hi all, i have been training my ass off for the last 18 months as I really wanted to try MMA fighting. i set myself a goal of being "fighting fit" and conditioned by my 36th birthday which is this Monday. i have lost 34.6 kilos to date(following strict diet and training plans from the feedback from the legends of this website) and have a new lease on life, it has literally changed my life entirely.
I have been mixing it up with 6 sessions of fight training per week (2 bjj clases, 2 kickboxing classes and 2 ground and pound classes) plus at least 3 conditioning sessions per week and 2 weight sessions per week and i roll and spar whenever i can around my training sessions. between the physical training/conditioning and the diet side of things i think i have done everything possible to get me ready (bloodwork is spot on as well).
What i am really interested in is the mental side of it now as i want to cover all bases. i dont want any nerves, or fear (yep i admit i will be scared for my first fight) to affect my performance and and let the people down who have put so much time into me and let myself down from the commitment i have put in as i have given it evrything. i knw it sounds like a weird question to ask but do any of you experienced guys have any tips or feedback on this sort of stuff.
