    Splenda vs. Sweet & Low

Are these both a no no during cutting? Is anyone better than the other?

I've heard rumors that the artificial sweeteners cause all kinds of bad health issues, I'm sure you have too. All I know is that Splenda is my savior for dieting. I put it in my oats everyday, sometimes on my sweet potatoes and I've even used it in marinades on chicken breast and cheaper cuts of beef.

No health issues, use it worry free.

For the OP go w/ splenda, won't have a metallic aftertaste like Sweet N low (saccharin)

I like the new Splenda with fiber added. It taste the same as regular splenda and doesn't contain maltodextrin. The only ingredients it contains is soluble corn fiber and sucralose. Seems legit to me anyone see anything bad about it?

Stevia, another low cal sweetener. Designed to shut up all the morons that say artificial sweeteners are evil. If you like it go with it, not a bad choice.

Nothing is bad about them. Look on the net type in 'neotame,' it's an artificial sweetener that is 8000x sweeter than table sugar. You will find these articles littered on the net about how people have gotten cancer, disease, etc with no solid scientific backing. Neotame = aspartame, neotame clone of aspartame, etc see titles like this. You will read articles calling these neurotoxins blah blah blah all sensationalistic bs made to try to scare people. Basically what gives them a bad name is misinformation with a pile on effect through blogs and free lance articles. These people are these naturalist who assume everything that is unnatural is bad for you. Same people who complain about cloned foods or food that were shot by gamma rays that will actually make it safer to eat.

Assuming that these people are correct and indeed it is a neurotoxin lets see how much you are consuming in an average meal. Food as normally 30g of sucrose. Aspartame is 180 times sweeter than sucrose so you are only consuming .167g of aspartame in your foods and 0.00375g for neotame. Studies linking aspartame to cancer had rats eating virtually their bodyweight in aspartame. Do you think the FDA would let it be on the market if it was deemed unsafe? There have been over 200 studies on aspartame saying that it is human safe. Did that answer your question?

I can tell you yes with 100% certainty. It is not about safety it is about $$$. The FDA is about as crooked as any government sanctioned organization, believe me.

Ok you're right but if it was poisoning people and causing cancer at an enormous rate?

I know pharm drugs can do things like that, 100,000 die each year from them but not foods for consumers.

I meant mainly pharm drugs approved by them. I am sure most foods are safe to eat. The problem is that splenda/sucralose has only been around since 1999, so 10 years may not be enough time to see its negative effects. What if they pull it in 10 years bc its deemed unsafe after all that long term use? I hope it doesn't happen bc I use it myself, but it's possible.
