Thread: Before bed meal?

  1. #1

    Before bed meal?

i take 2 scoops of casein protien and a tbsp on natty peanutbutter

So the question im wondering is what is should i add carbs before i go to sleep?

i read some meals out of muscle and fitness and theyhad carbs abd fat before sleep. I gain fat pretty easily so im lost. Im willing to do w/e it takes to gain muscle though.

if you gain fat easily i would stick with pro/fat before bed, what you do sounds good to me, you could try subing fish oil for the peanut butter

The only people that should eat carbs before bed are genetic freaks that don't gain fat ever. Stick to pro/fat meal otherwise.

the fat in these meals is good but whey is a fast digesting protein(30-45minutes), you would be much better off using a slow digesting protein like casein or subbing in cottage cheese or a lean meat(lean meats take several hours to digest)

that's a good before bed meal, though i would add some good fats, maybe make a marinade with olive oil and soak the steak in it all day

egg whites run through your system too quickly.. 3 hrs into sleep your body will be eatin off your muscles for amino acids.. that's why you do beef, it takes time to digest, giving you a steady flow of amino acids all night (unless you wanna get up at 4am and have a shake... which im not willing to do... i like sleep)

I eat a can of tuna fish before bed. Take my melatonin and start reading a book. I am out within 30 minutes.
