how long do u wait to eat whole food after pwo shake?

title basically says it....im just curious, ive been told by some they eat the next whole food meal 1hr after their pwo shake and some just stick to the normal hours of eating meaning 2 or 3 hrs after as they normally would eat a meal after a meal....did that make sense?

It wouldnt matter, eat when your hungry

Calories are calories, carbs are carbs, protein is protein and fat is fat regardless of the form.
Just count your PWO shake as a meal, but if its small then add a whole food meal shortly after etc

so basically, as soon as i think i could stuff my face..the better? my only concern is the ability of my body to digest it all without wasting some of it cause of an overload of calories. my basic pwo shake is 2 scoop protein and four scoops gatorade mix (about 55g pro and 60 g carbs. ppwo meal is 5 oz chix and 10 oz potatoes or other carbs equall to it. i literally could eat that 15 mins after but it doesnt make sense to me to do that. so im tryin to come up with a pattern of time i can stick to. like 1 hr or 1.5 hr maybe?? plus i want to line up my other meals of the day with this scenario. thanx for responses. headed to the gym

I would stick to an hour or so. If you start waiting 2-3 hours all of your protein and carbs from your shake have already passed through.

The protein can still be floating in your system even after 5 hours.

I have read that whey leaves the system after 3 hours and it peaks at around 30 minutes after injestion. A whole food meal would still be around after 5 hours but then again it doesnt peak nearly as quickly.

I usually eat whole food, 1 hour to an hour and a half. Depends on how your stomach can tolerate it.

1 hour if you can wait that long! I am hungry as a bear about 30 minutes later so I eat.

This PPWO meal that all of you are discussing. Should the carbohydrates in that meal be made of complex carbs like brown rice or the higher gluten white flour?

I eat at approximately 1 hour and 15min. I have to get to work. I own a restaurant and there is plenty of white bread, corn tortilla's and chicken that can be prepared quickly. These are high in gluten. Is it ok? Pizza too?
