Question Nizoral 2% for thinning hair

    Hi lads

Have noticed my hair is beginning to thin (nothing to do with gear) so researched what other people have done, followed the advice and have just received some 2% nizoral from inhousepharmacy.

Just wondering how long it took yous to notice results?! TBH i think my scalp has already stopped itching (apparently a sign of MPB beginning) but having used it twice in 4 days i still get what i think is too much hair in my comb when i comb my hair. I know its too early to expect anything like a re-growth (if this even will happen, have seen it does for some people) but when could i expect my hair to stop falling out as much?! Would like a timeframe so i know when to resort to something else if nizoral doesnt work for me.

    Thanks!

Thanks man. Did you notice any immediate changes in itching? Or hair not falling out?

They say it kills the DHT that forms on the top of the scalp, The doctors wont prescribe it for hair loss, and the only kind you can get OTC is 1%. You have to order the 2%

Products containing zinc pyrithione such as Heand & Shoulders have been 'inconclusively' linked to slowing hair loss, again prevent DHT from attaching to hair follicles or something similar. On a personal note before i knew about this, i started using head & shoulders because it was the only one in the bathroom (going on 4 months now) and i have noticed a dramatic effect on the itchy scalp where it's receiding and also hair on my pillow, before sometimes i would look at my pillow and think f@ck me i''ll be bald in a few months at this rate! but literally stopped the abnormal shedding and itchiness. Just my two cents.

Superb, thanks for taking the time to reply! Does anyone know how many hairs would be considered 'normal' to shed when say brushing hair for example? Wondering what i could take as a bench mark for this nizoral working...making sure im not just fooling myself that its working

I can't say when it comes to brushing, but daily i believe the head sheds between 100-150 hairs. You'll most likely notice these on your pillow.

Thanks for the reply. 100 odd hairs sounds right to me. Funnily i dont notice hair on my pillow (maybe just cos its light so dont see them easily) but feel them on my hands when in the shower. If anything i think possibly more hair is coming out now...some people have said this is to be expected but not everyone says that. Slightly concerned.
