    Miss America statement

SO she doesn't agree with gay marriage and Perez Hilton gets to flame the shit out of her and help keep her from getting the crown? Fvck him. I hate that people want acceptance but won't accept. I do not have to agree with you to accpet you. I do not agree with same sex marraige either, but I don't discriminate against gays. I just have a different a opinion just like she did.

Does this double standard burn anyone else up?

I have no idea what you're talking about with Miss America, but

    Yep. total double standard.

It's the typical post-modern "I'll accept you as long as you share my belief system" theory.

Narrow-minded Christians and narrow-minded flaming creeps are equally offensive in my book. Both of them can take a long walk off a short pier together.

^^how funny that you would make that statement. I am talking about someone else being narrow minded yet it is twisted back around. Perhaps you have struck on the point.

I assume that you believe that it is only Christians that are against same sex marraige? And particulary narrow minded(are there really any other kind?). BTW, I guess the rest of the world, the non-narrow minded christain type, are the open minded ones?

I am not trying to argue with you just understand your point.

Being a true Christian has very little to do with the mind. It has more to do with having an unconditional heart.

How naive do you think I am? Of course I know that Christians are divided on the issue just like everyone else. There's no denying, however, that in this country these so-called Christian "values" are the biggest hurdles that gays face in their quest for equal rights and protections under the law. Why marriage is legislated anyway is completely beyond me, that's purely an issue for the churches IMO.

Being a true christian is about believing in something you cant see/touch/hear/smell or talk to.
Nothing to do with an unconditional heart or acceptance ot non acceptance or my balls. If you don't believe in things you cant see, you cant be a christian...

Even though I don't know you, I respect you and your opinion.

Jesus was built upon an unconditional heart, which is the main reason why he was viewed as being the most loving individual to ever walk the Earth. And it's through Jesus we can be saved. Even though we can't see him at this time. A Christian should always strive to be like Jesus. But not greater than Him. Because when we do that, we too can obtain the ultimate goal in eternal salvation as well an unconditional heart during our stay here on Earth. And an unconditional heart results in true peace here on Earth.

Oh, I'm sorry, didn't realize you knew Jesus.

You know what the biggest issue that we have with the people of today? It's that they spend entirely too much time, energy and emotion in trying to preach to others about what they believe. Rather than trying to simply adhere to what they believe.

Because in today's society, it's more important to be right and to be heard. Than kind.

And on topic I usually actually liked Perez Hilton but this does bother me a bit. A judges job is to make judgements w/out their own personal bias tainting an opinion that needs to be objective and sensible.

He should be beaten to death with a dildo imo

^^ This is the best statement so far!!

I believe that Marriage is a religious sacrament that was meant to be shared between a MAN and a WOMAN !! PERIOD

HOWEVER...... I believe that if two people want to have a UNION that is recognized by the government for Insurance, Taxes, etc..reasons, then they should be allowed to have a UNION of the same sex,

They should be allowed to have the benefits of a Marriage, just can't call it that. FAIR ENOUGH !!

JMHO and you can go Fvck yourself if you don't agree with it....LOLOLOL

Agreed. Some kind of civil union that would address insurance etc is fine.

Yup when I saw that they basically handed her the "oops i put my foot in my mouth card" for saying what she "believes" rather than giving the answer that Perez Hilton (made up name so how fake is he) wanted to hear?

she gave a true and honest answer...she should have been rewarded, not put out there like a gay basher.

    F'n ridiculous.

good point and even better point is the one where the question should never have been asked.

the other chick got a softball question:

should tax payers money be used to bail out large corporations? (what a softball question)

The question shoul dnot have been asked in my opinion either. It is rediculous to allow a judge to press an agenda like that on that platform.

Also, I am a student of the holy Bible and I have yet to find a wedding in it. Couple of ceremonial wedding celebrations, but NO WEDDINGS.

Excellent point on it being an oxymoron as well.

HAving sadi all that, I find it so vunny that it turned immediatley religous when the point I was trying to make was that there is no such thing as an open mind. You cannot be open minded on anything because there is another side of the coin that has to be neglected in order to accept the side you choose. Either for abortion or against, for civil unions or against, for taxes or against. even if we all have our own way of creating the parameters of each issue, it is the basic truth that we cannot be for both sides.

Either you serve God or Mammon so to speak, but you cannot do both. (that was an inside joke BTW)

Miss California was winning by a landslide. And for this 1 question to rob her of the crown. Downright ridiculous.

What Bible are you quoting that from? Jesus never said that, Anakin Skywalker and George Bush said that. Last time I checked, neither of them were anywhere close to Jesus!!!!

But back to the original topic, I admire the airhead for standing up for her convictions, however wrong they are (just my opinion). But about gay marriage, I agree with other posts that it's a religious act and government shouldn't be involved in religion. We should do away with government supported marriage and everyone should be allowed civil unions. If a gay person finds a church that will 'marry' them, that's fine, but freedom of religion allows people to discriminate openly all the time, that is why there is a seperation between church and state, or at least that's what it should be!!!!
