How good is jump roping as cardio

Im trying to cut down a little right now and have been jump roping pretty frequently. I know burn tons of calories, but how much muscle does it burn (or does it burn mostly fat)? Also is jump roping bad in the long run for your joints?

its high intensity so it will be anaerobic and will use muscle and fat as energy

i believe that anything high intensity should be held to under 1.5 minutes.. with at least double the rest time or low intensity movements.. i feel this to be the most effective at fat burning and you wont have prolonged period of high intensity anaerobic exercise wehre the body will start to cannibalize muscle tissue

I usually do 50-100 jumps, rest for 30 seconds then repeat

And I do this over 20 minutes or so
