Shoulder injury, doctor wants to do surgery, (have xray pic posted)

I really dont want to jump into surgery but my injuries make sense. Basically my bone has a splinter and is digging into my tendon. He basically says , in the future if i dont get this shaved down , i can tear the tendon and i will have chronic pain in my arm. My left shoulder is the worst but my right isnt that bad but does hurt from time to time. He says grinding both bones will fix all my problems and i should be good for life and never have problems again...... please help with your opinion.

this is my Right shoulder that only hurts once in awhile

this is my Left one that has been hurting for a good 2 months, you can clearly see the problem.

I think the doctor has your bet interest in mind and I think that you should proceed with the surgery instead of living with pain forever when there is a cure for it.

I say go for it! I'm sure you will be glad you had it done a few months down the road.

damn nice break man, that sucks.

Rebreak and pin it? You dont want metal in your shoulder man if you can prevent it... GRanted it might be better pain then you have now, but its no fun thats for sure.

    It's not a break, it's a bone spur

Most doctors have $ on their mind from the big bucks surgeries bring, and will push for surgery even when it is not needed..... Sad but true.

Not saying this is the case... Hard to give a specific answer to this post.

You should know if you need surgery or not.... Pain? ROM? Affecting your daily life? Can you lift weights?

Shaving bone is not a very complicated procedure.... Not like tendon or ligament reconstruction, which can have you worse off than before the surgery if not done right. Also , time off after the surgery should not be very long compared to soft tissue getting worked on.

IMO do as the Dr Tells you. Dr Makes his money with or without you. I had a bad shoulder injury my senior year in highschool and ignored surgery because it was my final year playing ball. Played an Entire season sucking down painkillers before games.
My shoulder hurts when it Rains to hard now. I have to stop mid workouts if I feel the slightest pain because it gets real painful if I keep pushing.
Go with the Dr Suggestion. Otherwise you may pay more for it later.

You have a scapular Y view x ray there. Here is a normal one for comparison. The superior angle of your scapula is very tall, but I have no experience with this as a source of pain and will not otherwise comment.
