    Question for Accutane users

    Hey guys,

Currently taking accutane at 20mg/day, I'm about a month in and am in that break out stage that most people go through. My question is as im a first time user, how long does this break out stage usually take as my acne is 10 times worse than it originally was and is very painful.

    Cheers.

I took Accutane once for my severe acne . I started to clear up around 6-8 weeks and after 12 weeks was almost completely clear. It is very harmful and B-5 works just as well with 1% of the sides. I sued the manufacture as part of the mass law suit of 2003 on the grounds of depression. I only got $12,00 but it was worth it. My friend Bill has a bone deformity from using Accutane for 6 months. It is very toxic and not worth taking. I only used it for 14 weeks. 10 grams of B5 for 3 months will give same results and only 2 sides are loose stool and mild sensitivity to the sun as long as you take a B100 with it to prevent deficiences. After 3 months a slight decrease down to 3 grams a day will keep future breakouts at bay. Also need to use a mild soap 2x a day and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide 2x a day. Please switch to B5 as Accutane has more sides than the most powerful steroid on the market. Plus has your skin or lip area started to crack yet or your joints extra stiff and have you been getting bloodwork done? The B5 has to be powdered and not time released. Bulk Nutrition has 600 grams for $30 that is only $10 a month and you also need to take extra Biotin on top of the B-100 while on it.

Yes, at first your acne will get worse. It will happen and its going to suck, but you got to keep positive. I had really bad acne on my face, neck and back. I had to go on accutane for 7 months and now i never had any issues with acne. The worste part about taking accutane was the skin pealing. Make sure you get lots of chap-stick because your lips will be pealing as well.
Accutane, like other retinoids, works by altering DNA transcription. This affect decreases the size and output of sebaceous glandse. It also makes the cells that are sloughed off into the sebaceous glands less sticky, and therefore less able to form blackheads and whiteheads.

The only pain in the ass was getting my blood work done every month.

I still hear a lot of good things about B-5 but i used it at 10mg ED for 7 months and got nothing, nothing at all but really blocked pores and maybe a little worse on the acne side of things. Everyone is different though. Cheers for the input.

you have to take 10 grams not mgs and has to be powder form from a good source and you must do a benzoyl peroxide treatment with it. Are you sure you ran both and to the T?

My acne never got worse (that I remember) but I do remember it took a long time for the dryness to kick in. Several months probably. But when it did it was awesome. Accutane is worth all the sides and pain in the ass bloodwork in my opinion.

If you naturally have bad acne the acne will come back a couple of months after done with accutane. A great suggestion is let it clear up with Accutane and then mantain with B5 after- this will work as the B5 will keep the pores tight and limit the oils that the bacteria feeds off.

everybody is different but back when i took it i had such horrible acne you didn't want to look at it, and it stayed all the way up to the very last month of the accutane and then it went away and i haven't had acne since anywhere on my body and i took it at age 15 and now i'm 27

i took 50,000UI's EOD of Vitamin A, i was told that would help it get through the rough part
