    Colon cleanse....anyone else doing this?

Several years ago a friend insisted I try a colon cleanse. Very much into bodybuilding at the time...but also doing my share of partying, I felt like I'd hit a wall and the effects of my nitelife-style left me sluggish.

I had never dreamed of doing such a crazy ass thing but had an inordinate amount of repsect for this incredible woman thaqt suggested I do so.

Next thing you know, I'm lying down on a board with a hose going in thru the backdoor. It was humiliating and uncomfortable to say the least.

For 10 days @ 2 hrs per I lay there with this concoction of herbs and chloraphyl running in and out of my colon. It was the bravest thing I'd ever done.

The first few days were startling as about 100 lbs of fecal matter were swept from my body....and I only weighed 220! Ok...maybe it was about 5 lbs but it was intense none the less.

About 7 days into the clease I realised a rush of energy I'd not known since my teens ( I was about 35 at this time). The whites of my eyes were a brilliant white and the white in my finger nails went away. My fface had "a glow" according to friends.

By day 10 I knew that I would be doing this for the remainder of my life...what an incredible, health improving experience this was.

I have since done this (at home) about twice a year for 3 or 4 days at a time. I always experience renewed vigor but have read that such flushing can also remove beneficial flora in the colon and it is not necessarily a good idea (!?!).

Anyone else have commentary about this most uncomfortable of topics?

I bought a kit from Wal-Mart and tried it. Yeah it cleaned me out but then I saw Pen and Teller do a thing about it on their show BS and found out that is what it is. BS. I personally would not waste the money again. Drink a glass of prune juice instead.

colon cleansing is very good for basic health, but it can also be dangerous. it can also be done at home very cheaply. You must do a lot of research and be sure you know what you are doing.

I am aware of Penn and Teller's expose' on this subject. I have great respect for Penn Gillete...I also like his band. But they do a show that they want to sell. Sometimes the obvious gets lost in the process. Me thinks.

My point is this, you have a whole bunch of sh*t in you. It rots and stinks. I want to expel that stinky sh*t asap. Penn and Teller may be correct in long term heath benefits...or lack of, but I'm not looking for silky hair...I just want to get that sh*t outta' me. That in mind, I am living proof that there are benefits to this flushing. I have no scientific data and don't know if I've also expelled "beneficial flora", all I know is after a few days of this very awkward and uncomfortable process...I feel like a million bucks.

Here's how it works. You buy a board that rests on a chair. There's a hole in the board that fits over your toilet. There's a tube on that end that goes up the chute. The tube is connected to a hose that siphons water from a 5 gal bucket.

You lie on the board and gravity brings the water to your colon. I believe this to be much ssafer than any forced water (like a garden hose, lol) as I think flora is saved this way.

Why this would be better than prune juice or drinks is because supposedly, if you've ever dealt with constipation, the intestinal walls bulge. In those bulges pockets form and sh*t may get lodged in those pockets....maybe for a very long time. It rots and seems to me that it would be rather toxic. The water finds it's way into those pockets and flshes this nasty material into the toilet and you feel so much better. I promise that much for sure.

Some of you, much smarter than myself, will say I'm wrong and full of sh*t. to that I'd say you can be no better than 50% correct. I might be wrong....but I'm not full of sh*t. LOL. I've been doing this on my own, maybe once a year for a while now. I've never been sick from this or anything, and I've always felt great afterwords. I sincerely think there are benfits in doing this.

I think the whole set-up was a couple hundred bucks and will last a lifetime. It's an embarassing subject which is the only reason I don't promote this to all of my friends. The few that I have swear by it and get the same results. I can't imagine never doing this again regardless of what the experts say.

Not sure why the word "buy" highlighted in my last post. I'm not trying to sell anything. Kinda' uncool.

There are many weight loss solutions, which are expensive and can only be done by selecting the category of the rich. Acai Berry is a natural product that is available at reasonable cost.

    Talking Colonics

Doing an 8 week treatment session of colonics will greatly improve your quality of life. Once your eight weeks is up try to go at least every one to two months. I lost weight and have so much more energy. Find a reputable place and go for it.

Just do prune juice. If your lactose intolerant like me, half gallon of smart milk will do, lol. And i also do cranberry pills, i found out that cramberry juice can "long shot" cause kidney stones. Or so I read in a MSN health news. Good luck!
