    Vitamin K dosage

Hello i have been taking 500 mcg of vitamin k1 everyday for some time now , the supplement was from Solgar , each pill was 100 mcg . I wanted more and i got a pharmaceutical form-that also was much cheaper then the "commercial" product- of Vitamin K1 called Konakion Tablets 10mg . This 10mg dosage would mean that its 10,000 mcg (or ug) correct?

Is this too much? Should i take it just once per week? Would it get absorbed and stored in fat cells thus doing its job for a long time? I want to avoid blood clots and any ill effects from a large dose.

That's way too much. Your body already produces vitamin k as in the lower GI tract. Upper safe limit is 500mcg.

Yeah so whats with this pharmaceutical grade vitamin having such a large dose? And it only costs 5 euro peer box (it has 20 pills). Does this mean this is completely unusable or is there something i am missing? Cant i take it once a week ? Is this vitamin stored in my fat cells?

that might be what they give newborns since they don't have the flora in their GI tract to produce vitamin k.

Dammit. I 'll try to cut the pills and take a small part of them if possible.
