    working secondary muscles first ?

You guys ever work a secondary muscle first if you feel its lagging ?

Like i normally do chest / bi - I always work the bigger muscle first. If i felt bi's were lacking would you work them first ?

I feel dedicating a entire workout to arms is a waste.

Yes, they are small muscles and don't need that much time. I work them with a bigger muscle to help balance the time and get me in/out of the gym. To spend an 1.5-2 hrs on arms ? HELL NO.

why would anybody spend 2 hours in the gym period, and why arms? in your current split you have shoulders/tris. those are part of the arm, hence you technically have an arms day.

Thats my point. I don't like grouping two large muscles together in the same workout. I pound my chest, then finish up with a quick bi workout. Just like on thur, i kill my shoulders then finish up with tri.

I tend to do my secondary muscle groups first but not to say the work out is dedicated to them.
I view it as if I exhaust the secondary muscle group first then the primary has to work that much harder to complete the motion I am attempting on its own.
So if it is an A: day
    Its
tris first then followed by shoulders as they are my strongest muscle in this group and tend to compensate for my pecs if I do not kick the crap out of them first. Finishing up with chest.
My numbers on chest suffer but honestly I don't give a shyt I am not competing with the poundage I am always trying to beat my previous workout total reps. Of course I rotate the shoulders and Pecs depending on how I feel that day and what the mirror tells me.

i though that too. But i now love arm day. Its one of those days where you can give it all in the gym and don't feel like crap/exhausted afterwards.
Its like a light day where you can go heavy.

    Why do you think this?

I am extremely tall with a very LONG bone strutucre so my arms are the last thing that come in and it takes me alot longer to put on a bulging muscle mass on my arm then lets say my chest, traps and shoulders.

My trainer thinks I need to devote at least a day to arms once every two weeks.

Because your arms are involved in just about every lift you are preforming. I would think it would be more important to let them rest.
Yet oddly I still feel driven to give my abs a day of their own so what do I know.

Well maybe ill try it guys. Not only will it help to change things up a little but im also curious to see if it helps add mass to my bi's. Tri's are good but i would really like to focus on the bi.

I've never done a smaller muscle group first.

But I have done like a pre-fatigue thing, for example, doing chest. Super set incline flys with bench press (doing flys first)
flys at a higher rep range, and press movements at a lower rep range.

i do the same sometimes but i try and change it around quite often so my body never gets used to the same things and then i dont get board so i can sit down and plan the next 2 or 3 weeks routine trying to avoid most of the exercises i just done but oversely you cant aviod everything because some exersizes are a must
