Pinning techniques and set up

I'm curious. I understand cleaning the pin with an alcohol pad is pointless becuase it is already steril, however does anyone do it anyway? Does anyone take extra precautions while injecting? I make my bathroom look like a surgical room. Everything in my bathroom is cleaned oncce a week with water and bleach (Yuck) My sink is cleaned constantly. I lay my gear and implements down on two paper towels and make sure nothing touches anything besides the paper towel, which is most likely nasty to begin with. I'm a clean freak but always wonder if there are other precautions I can take. What do you all do to make sure everything is good to go? What are your set ups like? Basically I want to make sure there isnt any possibility of infection.

I think your alittle too worried about it.
But better to be safe then sorry.
Definitely never touch the needle with anything.
Make sure you keep everything clean and clean the injection area very well.

Yeah, I think I am a little paranoid about it as well. But better safe than sorry. Some of the areas I have seen people use their gear look like dirty tattoo rooms. That just grosses me out. I laugh silently and turn my head.

I use a alcoholic pad to wipe the top of my bottles before extracting anything into the syringe. Then clean my ass.. wipe it with a alcoholic pad and pin. I try not to even breath on the needle.

i never wipe the injection site with an alcohol pad... but i always use a new syringe for each injection and use a seperate new needle to draw solution with. never had an infection *knock on wood* and i've done hundreds of injections.

I take a shower, use a new towel and then wipe the jab site with a swab.
Never touch the needle, the thing is already sterile, and i bet wiping alcohol on it would just make the jab sting.
I've let a tiny bit of oil coat the needle, but it's prob just a waste

Why dont you wipe the injection site with an alcohol pad? Do you clean the area at all? I guess Im a little suprised that youve never had an infection after hundreds of injections...Just seems a little risky.
