Tricep injection - Arm completely unusable...help?

On friday I did a much harder than normal arm work out. After I put 1cc of deca in my right tricep. I put it in the 3rd and probably smallest muscle in the tricep located towards the front of the arm the most. It began getting sore, by the 2nd day is was very sore and stiff, I stretched and massaged it a lot and it was showing some signs of fluid and puffiness down near the elbow.

I put the injection about 3/4 of the way up the arm. That whole muscle now is incredibly sore and tight now on the 3rd day it hurts like crazy and is still a little puffy, nothing drasitcally noticable but it seems like theres some inflammmation there.

A friend was thinking I have a partial muscle tear possibly, but the whole muscle hurts terribly all the way up.

Ive been icing it all morning, finally gave in to some vicodin.

Nothing wrong with the juice as Ive put 4cc of this Deca in my ass no problem already.

I have antibiotics if needed... should I keep waiting? so far day 3 is the worst...

    Thanks guys...

It's your arm. Why would you wait to get professional medical attention for something like this? And if turns out to be nothing, then great, but don't wait around...

It costs money and 9/10 out of 10 Im told just to rest it. Its not an infection. My buddy has finished med school and says its a bad muscle pull or possible tear. I think it may just be a coincidence that I put that cc of deca in it after the gym, maybe that exacebated the pulled muslce... just tryin to cover all bases here.

the first time i injected my bicep the same thing happened it lasted for 4-5 days and i could barely move it the whole time.

If it goes red or warm it’ll be an infection.

If it’s just swelling it could be a number if things.

However since you have antibiotics on hand I’d use them.

I put a cc in each tri once a week. I dont think u should be icing, i would go with heat. ice can cause it to "crash" and crystalize in ur arm.

    Exclamation

I keep seeing posts on the injection site locations and infections people can get .Hope this clears things up some.
1).Keep your injections in your glutes. The small amount of gains people think they are making by injecting this way, is just not realistic.
2).The reasons you keep your injections in your glutes is, if there is a infection, it's easier to treat the abscess in your ass then on your arm.
3).I have read that, for the most part, injecting into smaller, tighter groups of muscles, they are more prone to irritation, and inflammation.
4).If you have a site injection reaction, if it's on your ass, no one can see it.(except your girlfriend).

Now, I would watch your arm really close. If you even are a little afraid that it may be infected, Go to the hospital.
Some infections don't hurt until it gets alot larger. There are different types of abscesses and bacterial infections.Let your Doctor rule them out.Good Luck Titanium

    hey brother,

I just noticed this while I was looking around, I am a physician, actually I'm a researching physician i study steroid synth. but none the less I went to med school.
You have an infection my friend. An arthritic infection can be the most painful experience and most dangerous to the limb you could ever have happen. I have a knee infection after taking a blast in the army from a frag device. I waited three days of pain before going to emergency thinking I twisted it or something and they had me in surgery within two hours, I would have lost my leg if i waited a couple more days. Get to emergency right now, I don't mean after dinner or after you blast your bi's, drop whatever is in your hand grab the keys and run the lights, I'm dead serious. I signed up in this forum to get this message to you. You don't want to lose your arm, go now. I will send you a P.M. too, I don't know how long you have had this, if it is strep or staph they will need to irrigate, you are going to be off the weights for many months, never inject that close to a joint into a small muscle. May I ask what you were thinking injecting into that muscle. That is no place for intramuscular administration of oil based parenteral medication people.

the whole arm is hot and red now. I just took a dose of Ciprofloxacin and was doing to see how it would respond... Do I need something stronger? such as IV antibiotics?

Bad idea on the tri, I had done one there before no problem.

Get your A$$ to a docter. They will give you the correct antibiotic that you need. This is not something you should try and treat yourself.

Honestly, I think u may have hit an area where the liquid has not absorbed into the muscle. It happens a lot with inexperienced juicers. It'll go away in a few days. It happens all the time but I agree with some of th other guys, stick it in your ass, it works well. Lol

If your doing fast esters ed or eod injects,it is important to rotate and find different sites to hit. There is more of a chance of infection hitting the same site than rotating.I have hit everything accept calves and traps.

Ok guys. I took 500mg ciprofloxacin (antibiotics) last night. Today it seems a little more mobile. It is still red, hot and inflammed surface temp approx 103 deg.

I am running a temperature of about 100-101deg. Is this normal for a missed shot injection to the muscle or do I possibly still have a infection?

I called my doc to get some IV antibiotics as I was starting to get worried as my body as a whole feels like light flu like symptoms. I am still waiting for my doc to call me back.

let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for all the input, much aprpecaited, can't wait for this one to be over. I dont mind the pain/swelling I just want the peice of mind that if I wait it out my arm wont rott off.

yea man personally i think youll be fine, i thought the same thing with my bicep when it happened.. it was so bad i had to walk around with my arm bent upwards because my bicep wouldnt move at all.. it was red, sore and 2 out of all the days that it was messed up it was literally throbbing in pain.. i took some NSAID's even though i try to stay away from shit like that, but i couldnt take the pain.. the pain subsided for a while, and eventually it was gone but i still couldnt move my bicep very well. then after a bit it finally healed. im by no means a doctor, but just trying to give the best input i can.. good luck man

I don't know man. I'm sure there are a lot of people who have been fine with this, but sreiously if it was me, I would go to the doc?

I think what the physician was saying is a good idea. He probobly scared the heck out of you, but go to the doc. Clearly, you know this, if you have a fever, the injection site is red, and it is sore you have an infection. Let us know what the doctor says, but please go in to the urgent care. If you have an urgent care it is better than the ER. PLease let us all know what decision you make. Good luck and take care of yourself!!

I went and saw my doc today, explained what happened. He tried to get me off juice and on clomid and HCG. But he said it was certainly an infection and gave me doxcycline for 10 days...

I did not clean the injection site nor the top of the bottle sloppyness I WILL NOT REPEAT.

I had just gotten out of the shower and was headed out and figured I was clean. Obviously not. My fault completely I guess.

Arm is already feeling better 3-4 hours into the antibiotics

thanks for all the support and info guys... didnt want my arm to rott off... glad I blew the $85 on the doc and $5 on the antibiotics.

I think I might be back in the gym as soon as tomorrow, its healing up fast now.

I read someone saying they never cleaned sites on here and I figured ****, I used to cut my knees and arms as a kid daily and never cleaned a wound so what the hell.

I cant have that I cant be hurt attitude anymore cuz obviously it happened to me!

Dont inject an infection into your arm if I did. If so get doxycycline, Cirpo doesnt work so well.

    ?????
After all the post with people getting similar infections and such why would ANYONE not clean the site? Spend $$$ hundreds on gear but skip the $0.02 worth of cleaning.

Well I guess you guys get what you deserve for taking stupid short cuts. Sorry but no sympathy from me here if you store it in a dirty sock or the bottom of a hamper or some place unsanitary and also don't make sure it's clean and your injection site.

Man, after a shower I clean my glutes with a sponge soaked in 90% isopropyl alcohol! I can't even imagine shooting without sterilizing first! I'm glad you are feeling better man, and let this thread be a lesson to everyone! I say you got a close call and should never take for granted the idea of being sterile. Close call for sure...

Agreed, I shoot AFTER a shower and I scrub the area until it's red, then I scrub some more. LOL
After that I clean it with straight alcohol on a clean pad for removing makeup and such. Then I use a sterile wipe that comes in the sealed pouch to clean the bottle and the injection site again.
Total time, 1 or 2 minutes, total spent, maybe $0.10
