    Carbs vs Fiber

Hey guys. I noticed that Fitday, the PC version, calculates total calories from carbs as (Carbs - Fiber) x 4. It won't subtract the fiber from carbs to calculate the total calories I've eaten for the day (added with fat and protein), but to calculate calories from carbs, it does take into consideration fiber. So if i'm on a 40/40/20 diet and I'm supposed to be eating about 280g of carbs a day and 80g of those carbs are from fiber, am I eating enough carbs? Thanks.

Thanks jamy! You've definitely helped me a lot. I think I did pretty good today. I wanna lower my fat intake a drop, so i'm gonna cut back to one yolk for the oatmeal pancakes. Only a few calories short of 3,000 today. I'm also trying to figure out a non-workout day diet plan. How many carbs and calories should I cut back to if i'm not working out?

well right now I'm in between jobs and I don't really do much most of the day but sit in front of the computer.. but i'm an electrical engineer.. It's mostly desk/lab work. I'm 248 lbs, around 28 - 29% bf.. I calculated 2088 BMR last time... so..

    2088 x 1.2 = 2505.6
    2088 x 1.375 = 2871
    2088 x 1.55 = 3236.4

On my workout days, we figured in my other thread that I need 3000 cals to burn fat, of which 300g is protein, 300g carbs, the rest fat.

this is a very basic split to make things easier..

you can furthur your diet later with more experiance and do carb up and carb down days..

but for now, stick to this...

    baby steps..

Yes, i can figure out the macros myself.. I was asking if I should keep the same split (40/40/20) during non-workout days...sorry if I wasn't clearer about what I was asking. Yeah.. I'm reading a lot of threads to try to learn how people are carbing up/down.. thanks for the help.
