    Before going to bed

What do you suggest eating just before sleeping? Only pro? How much? What kind of pro?

yougurt has a ton of carbs!!

i personally have a scoop of casien pro and one cup of milk. Others will tell you to stay away from milk because it has sugars in it, but the GI level of sugars in milk is very LOW! and it is one of the slowest burning carbs you can find. Studies have shown that milk can be in your digestive system almost 8 hours, thats why i eat it before bed. Other like to have a pro/fat before bed, which could be a scoop of casien or cottage cheese and a tablespoon or two of natural peanut butter or some walnuts or almonds

a lot depends on goals and your current diet

I will eat some low carb yogurt with some cottage cheese and an egg or 2. Granted this might not be the best, but carbs are low and protein is decent.

hell i figure the carbs are low (about 12), and it is relatively quick to make (I go to bed at damn near midnight, and by that time I'm rdy for something quick).

If I have more time I'll make some scrambled eggs with some bison hotdogs, and that tends to fill me up better.

Cottage cheese and natural peanut butter mixed together. I like to top it with some cinnamon and splenda, sounds gross but tastes pretty good.

when you say lean piece of steak you mean lean steak and no other food?
like 10oz steak and no other peanut butter or anything? just the fat from there?

yep something like that, but because it may not seem like not a complete meal.

I tend to sometime reduce the size piece of meat and include a small salad with like tablespoon of olive oil.
to get bit of fat from each.

then if i want big piece of steak i will have that with like some veggies like broccolli cause personally i dont calculate my veggies but i dont have that much anyone like a cup size.

This is for cutting by the way.

sometimes i also have breast chicken before bed
what i do is grill my chicken or non stick pan them, then as soon as i get them off i spread a tablespoon of peanut butter on it which is my fat source.

At same time peanut butter melts slightly and gives like a satay for my chicken.

some people cant eat it and find it discusting but hey i want good and the best body so i really dont care everything taste good to me now.
13 years have gone by i think i would find most of what i eat great now

You don't calculate veggies in your count at all?
what is the advantage to having fat before bed?
I am assuming that carbs before bed is bad when cutting for gaining fat, but why no carbs at all? can't the fat be bad too?

well you would like to have something that digest much slower so it last a little longer in your since you are going to sleep for 8 hours.

so when you combine protein with a slow digestion source like fat, it will slow the whole process down and it will stay a lot longer in your body.. Which ultimately whole purpose of it is to stop your body going into a catabolic state which i believe you cannot stop but we try to minimise the damage due to a lot of people are not going to wake up in middle of the night to eat again .....

Another thing is if you have carbs before bed if i am not wrong it interfeers with your test release or something of that kind..
i know somewhere that line but i have not done my studies for while.

But i know it will not help and benefit the release of your test while sleeping..

also i dont calculate my veggies cause portion sizes are very small for me and i just have broccoli but if i were to have many different veggies combine together then i will defently start adding them up...

just the way i look at things.. and my way of dieting for many years hehe.

this is great info as I am trying to get my pro/fat pro/carbs meals down. as of now I eat everything...

Know of a place where I can find a list of good fats before bed (like the actual foods not efa etc)?

    You want a simple answer??
    this place .

all the above we have wrote is good tips..

but if you want whole food, start a thread about people listing the quality whole foods that has pro/fat in them.

and everyone will chip in and can have their input.
Incase i miss anything others can include, as of a place umm not too sure. that why start a thread others might be able help a lot more there.

just remember these are good start with
    nuts (almonds,walnuts)
EVO ( extra virgin olive oil)
    avocado
    peanut butter
fish oil ( my fav and i believe the best out there)

    whole foods:
    fish
    lean meats

im sure a lot more out there just cant think of top of my head right now...

does fish have all the essential fat you need? like fish only, no other food to help it along (ex. peanut butter)?

of course fish itself would have it.

im sure different sort of fish will have more off, probably like more potent .

but in general most fish have the essential fatty acids in them.

Thank you for your advice. I'll take casein pro (slow digestion). Carbo decrease gh during the night; do fats do the same?
I heard that Cutter woke up during the night to eat and prevent catabolism.

verry common practice by BB's to stay anabolic...but thats overkill for the average person
