hi im currently taking test prop eod and in a week im going to be going to washington for a week. Does anybody have any tips on how to bring it on the plane? Should i put it in my checkd luggage or carry on?

That is really the safest way. Does your friend know? If he does, mail it to him under a different name.

had to move it somehow. It was actually a turtle and a hamster. lol. easiest way is to just put it in my pocket. why jump through hoops for some type of animal transport for such a small animal?

You could take an empty plastic aspirin bottle and sanitize it with alcohol and then just pout your prop in there and then put it in your pocket and carry it on! the only problem you would have is syringes.. but then agin they are only illeagal if ther needle is on them, if you take the needle off and put them in your carry on bag, you are in the clear. just hide a few needles in the underneath bag in a pocket in a sock under some shoes etc. etc. I do not think you would have to worry! I brought a whole pile of painlullers and an ounce pf pot on the place one time and never got caught! They are looking for bombs and shit like that not some gear! Just be smart about it and think for a minute

put needles in checked baggage. do not try to carry everything. also you can go to a pharmacy and get needles there I think

You are all assuming something that is just not true. You all think that the TSA #1 Knows what they are doing and #2 That they are smart... I travel at least 2 times a month and I can tell you from experience that they are a bunch of knuckle heads that follow different procedures from one airport to the next. Mailing it is of course the best choice, but if you need to fly with them then here you go.

Amps -- EASY pocket and walk through. Needles go in checked baggage, no big deal. It is not illegal to have needles and syringes in your luggage.

Anything with metal just needs to get transfered to a different sanitized container and make sure the amount you have is less that 3oz. LOL should NOT be a problem!

Seems like all decent advice but by far would be best to mail it...I fly quite a bit too and like someone else stated the policies seem to be different at every Airport or at least followed differently. I personally dont think id want to try and fly with it. They search random people all the time and even if you dont get caught in the metal detector there's still chance (maybe small) that you could get nailed..
You basically have to ask yourself if its worth it.
