Should I expect Acne when on cycle?

I'm going to be starting my first cycle in a few weeks it will be a Test E only cycle with PCT. Not worried about that part. However, I had acne when I was younger and took Accutane for 5 months. I haven't had any acne for 10 years now and am a bit nervous it's going to come back when on cycle. Do you think I have a 90% chance of getting the acne back or do you think the Accutane will possibly prevent it from coming back or just get it very mildly? I've read a lot about getting sun and showering etc but what else can I do? I don't ever want to take Accutane again as it was a terrible experience.

If I do get acne when should I expect it? Right away? a few weeks in? During PCT? How long does the acne typically last? If you finish PCT and your natural hormones are back in check within a month or two will the acne go away or will I be battling it all over again?

    Thanks,
    Pete

Everyone is different. As a child growing up my face wasn't good but not bad.... And I got none on my face. It was all more so on my shoulders and back. I'm italian and have very oily skin. It varies. If you had it bad as a child. Then I think you have a good chance of it coming back.

Start running high doses of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) - it should help control the acne. Run it all the way through PCT.

Everyone is different..... how bad your acne will be is dependent on your chemistry. Wont really know until you start.

hell can't you just go to a dermotologist and get the rx for it?

It is not like it is illegal to have acne, so going to someone who specializes in it might help :P Thats what I plan on doing if i get acne, just head to my dermo, and wait in the waiting room for 3 hours then in the patient room for another hour, then see her for 5-10 mins and get a prescription :P (sorry had to rant, my dermo loves to make me wait for some damn reason)

Yup, it varies. I didn't have any acne my entire time on, but through PCT is when I started noticing some - probably from the hormone imbalances all at once.

So should I start taking pantothenic acid as soon as I start my cycle or should I wait a week or so? Also, what type of dosage would you recommend starting with? I will buy some ASAP but am trying to figure out how much I will need.

    Thanks again,
    Pete

If I remember correctly.... around 10g's a day. It's cheap stuff.....

I believe initially the B5 pushes the remaining oil to the surface.... then slows down production. You'll want to start it before your cycle to keep acne at bay.

I'll go find my acne treatment thread and post it up.....

Thanks so much for this info. I'm going to pick up some B5 tomorrow and start taking it right away. I'm hoping to start my cycle next Sunday.

Its truly individual. Not everyone has a problem. If your prone though,,,you might take precaution. I know of a great OTC product that has zero sides and works if you start having troubles.

    True.

    I break out like crazy.

    I run a generic accutane at 10 mgs x 2 ed during a cycle.

Goes all the way through PCT.

    What's your OTC product?

I had a little acne growing up and got some mild acne on my face around week 2 of my test-e cycle. Never had back/chest acne before and might get a little bump or two during cycle. To a certain point I think one should expect mild acne sides while on cycle, its worth it and its only temporary.

    Hey Pistol...

Like everyone else says, every person is diff. If you ran Accutane as a kid, you're probably aight for on cycle... you'll find out when the test kicks in... about 2-5 weeks into your cycle... maybe not until later, if at all... or in PCT.

The only preventative method I like is accutane (low dose, like TITANIUM), B5 bloated the shit out of me at all different doses... I startes with 3g a day in the past for a few days, then bumped to 10g... had awful stomach cramps and diarreah, etc...
Tapered the B5 down to even 1g a day and still had issues with my intestines and stomach... this was especially hard while bulking. I was unable to find a solid cure for the bloat, so I just stopped the B5. Aloe vera is supposed to help, but didn't do shit for me (literally). GL with whatever you decide though.

I'm getting it on week 5 here. On my back mostly, a little on the face. 500mgs of Sustanon per week. Gonna check out the B-5 thing. This thread I found seemed to have a good idea on how to dose it: http://www.acne.org/messageboard/Vit...on-t15341.html

    What's the OTC product??

if you have used accutane it should help alot preventing a break out.

I have used accutane in the past and have started my first cycle.

Not really oily at all, but then again may not have kicked in as such.

However, accutane shuts down the output of the sebaceous glands and also decreases the size.

So just start the cycle and see..

    Good luck

decreases the size and sebum output of the sebaceous glands.[

you will need to take 10g a day, you can get 1mg capsules at any vitamin store or online. in my experience they do work and they work very well, but you will need to drink lots of water (which you should be doin anyways) Vitamin B5 aka pantohenic acid is water solouble so whatever your body doesnt use just passes thru, you cant really overdose, i took it many years ago for teenage acne after readin about it online, 2g 5 times a day, its a real chore. only thing is i had one definate side effect that happened both times i went on it, it will mess with your head, can make you depressed and more likely to do crazy things, after the 2nd time i flushed them all down the toilet. i dont recall why but low doses have no effect on acne.

accutane should be a last resort. That stuff is harsh. I get very oily on cycle. How much ance i get depends on my daily habits. If i am working outside in the sun, that makes my skin even more oily. And working outside, i get dirty. Oil + dirt = acne. When i cycle in the winter, its not as bad.

To control it, i have found the following effective.
Wash your face and shoulders, moring, midday, and night.
If this doesnt do it, use a wash with salicylic acid.
If this does do it, start using benzoyl peroxide, 2.5 - 10% I use 10%
If you still have it, try the Nizoral shampoo. Its main ingredient is an anti-androgen. Use it for your hair if you're balding, and use it on your face and shoulders too.

This is enough for me. If it doesnt do it for you, use the toxic accutane.
