We never forget the 1st person who took us under their wing and showed us the ropes. I still keep in touch with my "mentor" to this day. He is over 50 now and still competing.
ya i haven't talked to quincy in about 10 years, but he is the one who taught me how to diet for my first couple of shows and i actually worked at his gym he owned so i ended up training with him for a while......although he is high volume and i do low volume i always go back to the basics that he taught meOriginally Posted by FireGuy1;4827***
we would train mon thru sat everyday.....
each bodypart was 4-6 exercises of 5 sets each.......example (can remember what day it was)
example
quads (tuesday?)
leg ext 5 sets
leg press machine 5 sets
angled leg press 5 sets
hack squats 5 set
barbell squats
hams (friday)
lying leg curls 5 sets
wide toes out squats 5 sets
stiff leg deads 5 sets
standing leg curls 5 sets
i was always strong but couldn't keep up endurance wise with that many sets and working fulltime at one job and part time at his gym.....i grow better off low volume, but training with him i was able to create some nice muscle separation
The day I met a pro-bb who became friends and mentored me.. it changed my life
consider urself lucky.. most ppl dont get that opportunity
my mentor is 67. well was. this was a while ago. but still see him often.
This board is my mentor... It would have been nice to have someone with a great understanding and knowledge to teach me... Sadly I learned everything I know from videos and words written from the guys here.. I still consider myself lucky.
