Working out my heart without losing fat.

I was just curious, I want to work out my heart without losing fat, When would be the best time to do such a thing. I was thinking a good sprint after my workout for about 5-10 minutes could do the job. Getting my heartrate high around 160- 180 for short bursts. 28 years old and an ectomorph. Any suggestions?

when reading again mate.........after weights and a.m empty stomache cardio are suggested to be the ideal times to burn fat....so would the best time not to burn fat...be about 30-60mins after eating some complex carbs and protein?? the way i see it is you will be using the carbs as energy and not fat.....and if you keep the skipping under 20 mins you should be giving the heart a good workout....

    so do skipping seperately.....

I agree with the energizer bunny on the kettle bells, I do that once a week and although it is "weight" it doesnt feel like it and my heart is pounding the whole time during my training session with it
