any supplements to decrease sugar cravings?

    Hi.

I need a supplement to help me decrease my sugar cravings.

For some reason, every night, I always wake up about half way through my sleep cycle, craving sugar like crazy.

I dont know what is causing this.

I've tried taking chromium picholionate but it only helps a little. Hoodia only helps a little.

Is there anything else I can take that help me get these cravings under control?

Yes I know self discilpline is a major factor but this is driving me nuts.

Its making it very hard for me to lose body fat.

I haven't slept a night without sugar cravings in atleast 5 years.
Is this a sign/symptom of something bad?

    Please help.

    Its so funny.

When I'm dieting I crave carbs and have sugar cravings of things I don't normal want during the offseason, candy, cake, donuts etc.

Then offseason roles around I'm happy as can be and don't want any of that

Why can't it be the opposite.

I think you got some good suggestions however. Make sugar free snacks for your cravings, look at different recipes online, sometimes a flavored BCAA drink helped me, or a diet drink.

But I think you covered the primary factor, self discipline. Dieting and staying on a diet is 100% mental

yeah.... the cravings are comparable to narcotic cravings, which I regretfully and unfortunately experienced years ago..

Maybe I should see an endrocrinologist about this

A few years ago a friend told me that Cyto-lean did the job. Look it up. Don't even know if its still around.

Have you tried Sweet&Low or Splenda? Maybe just pour a packet or 2 in your mouth. I know it sounds lame but it's worth a shot right? Or some sugar-free gum. Or just grab a piece of normal hard candy like a jawbreaker or peppermint and suck on it. I know it would have sugar but it would last for a while thereby keeping your sugar intake low. Other than that, just don't eat sugar! If you kicked narcotics (I unfortunately feel your pain on that one...), you can do anything!
