What do you tell your Dr.s?

Just curious, are you guys honest with your doctors about your steroid usage? Honestly, the thought never crossed my mind but I see a lot of you get hormones tested before and after cycles. I would think the Dr. would have to be aware right? Or do you not say anything but it's generally understood...?

I asked him to keep everything off the record..... he shut the folder and put his pen in his pocket. Hopefully he didn't write it in later LMAO

I see this a lot and I wonder why people think there doctors are out to get them... If I was not on TRT and was not risking the DR. Putting in my file "Steroid Abuse" and causing me to have to buy my own test for the rest of my life I would for sure be telling her everything! Everyone is on here asking PCT this and Gyno that.. Would it not be soo much better to be able to call or go see your doctor and find out for 100% certain the correct answer? Like for instance these people who post "I did a cycle 3 years ago and got gyno and now I think I am getting it again" Would it not be nice to see the doc and say I just started a cycle and I know from 3 years ago I am gyno prone can you wie me a script of give me a shot? Seems like it would be way easier to find anew doctor if needed then find the money for gyno surgery! Just my $0.02 though

My doc is great, she calls test the "feel good hormone". Didn't say one bad thing about it to me.

Of course I would like to have that openness. My assumption was I would get a mommy daddy talk, in which case I'd rather just keep my mouth shut. I was second guessing myself after seeing some stuff on here and thought maybe I could have an open discussion with my doc. Good to see some people can talk to their docs about it.

I may have to get a different doc though. Seems closed minded. He said there was no reason to run my test levels cause I'm losing my hair (I'm 26) even though I expressed much interest. I could be wrong, but T levels don't exactly correlate with hair loss. Some people have high T but no predisposition and have all their hair. Others I know clearly have low T and are bald as an eagle. Just cause I'm going bald doesn't mean my test levels are through the roof!

Sorry to go off topic but it kinda illustrates his closed mindedness.

well if you want an OPEN discussion you have to be open to listening to them too. No Dr is going to be like ok cool. They are going to give you a little talk.

also i never heard of a Dr. checking for low T because of hair loss. Its not just him but if you have insurance there has to be certain reason for test.

    Good point.

As for the tests, my request was not due to my hairloss. I explained to him I was very lethargic, mild depression, etc. and thought maybe it's low T (I know it could be 100 other things but I was just curious). I see what your saying, there has to be a reason and hairloss doesn't justify it, by my other symptoms may. Thanks for the input.

I've noticed that Dr.s get suspicious when you act like you know what you're talking about as a patient.

Like science and the way our human bodies function are some kind of super-secrets written only in the holy bible of Dr.ism.

Well guess what Doc, I stole your damn bible, but some of it's in chinese. Now I am paying you to translate it to me, and prescribe what's best.

Often times what they deem "best" isn't. It's an age-old debate too, medicine and cure, vs. prevention and optimism.

Anyway, be open if you can (18+) and be honest. If you don't like his reactions to your stand-upness, than find a new Dr. Also, these guys ARE smart heh, so maybe it's worth listening!
