An Odd diet, just wondering about it

So for the past couple days, due to having little time, I've found myself consuming around 2500 calories/day, but probably 1500 of which was all from healtyh fat (vegetable oils - such as grape seed oil). I took this in from eating a lot of salad with italian dressing I make using the grape seed oil..

So there wasn't much carbs and protein in there.

But I'm just wondering in general, if your looking to lose weight (meaning lose both fat AND muscle), would having a high (healthy) fat diet, medium protein and low carbs be a way to lose weight - granted your really not interested in gaining or even preserving muscle?

Exercise (cardio, plus lifting but only lifting for toning purposes) would be included.

    Just a general question..

If you dont care about losing muscle than it makes no difference what your macro nutrition portioning is. Just eat under your maintenance and you will lose weight.

And eating fats all from grape seed oil in italian salad dressing is not that type of fats you wanna be taking in man.

BTW what is lifting for toning purposes?
