Ulcerative colitis - Can i still do a cycle??

Hey guys...i was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis about 2 weeks ago. i have been taking 4g of Mesalazine a day for 2 weeks now and about days started 40mg of prednisone. i have reacted well to the prednison and only going to the toilet about 4 times a day. Due to being really sick i havnt been training for about 6weeks...longest time iv had off the gym in over 2 years. i have lost about 20lbs!
my question is once i am in remission and have gained my weight and strength back is it possible to go on a test only cycle? do u think it cause another "flare up?" Has anyone here been diagnosed with this disease and done a cycle before? i am looking for as much advise as i can, im not planning on running another cycle for atleast another 9 months or so to make sure my health is back on track...i will be definetly speaking to my DR. about the cycle before i start, but would like to hear your advice first. Thanks guys!

    Yes.

    I have Chrones disease.

4 years now, and I cycle.

Once you are off the prednisone, you "may" be able to cycle.

Your best bet to control your symptoms are your diet.

Takes years to figure it out, what to eat and what to avoid.

I put all my weight back on, so, I can say that keeping on a strict diet and stay on the Mesalazine, is your best bet.

Check with your doctor, due to the fact that gear can influence your immune system.

And since chrones/colitis go hand and hand being auto immune diseases.

I don't want to get into any more personal aspects of this in an open forum, as I have to take into consideration your privacy as well as my own.

I have had U/C for about 6-7 years. Don't cycle until you are off of prednisone and give it a few months to see how you react to some of the meds they might prescribe to you and see if your flare ups go away. Food does not effect my U/C, it comes mainly from stress, I have not had a flare up in the last couple of years

Ive also got UC, since 2000. I lifted very little the first year due to UC flare ups and trying to determine what meds controlled the UC best; rowasa, asacol, prednisone. After getting it under control, bodybuilding is NOT a problem with my UC. Ive done over a dozen competitions with UC and its presented very little problems. I actually feel my best during my competition prep when Im on a very controlled diet (no junk food). Bulking is a little tricky. If I slip into eating too much garbage in an effort to get my calories up, I start to have problems.

I haven't had any problems at all from AAS or any ancillaries.

My wife suffers from UC aswell.
One thing thats very interesting and i thought i might share is that she had never been without a flareup of some sort for the last 10+ years.
Then she started eating Activa Yogurt (one a day) and now hasnt had a flareup in over a year and also has totally stopped taking asacol.
This yogurt has been unreal for her and i would suggest its worth trying for anyone who has uC

Yes, it's the positive flora that is doing it for her.

There is a a supplement Pro-Biotics that has really good acidophilus in it.

This helps alot with people, as myself.

Has no fillers in it at all.

Glad your wife is doing better with it.

    Best
