    Oats...

I'm tired of eating them plain with artificial sweetener. I am strictly cutting right now and am trying to avoid dried fruit and brown sugar. Any tips to make em tastier?

doesn't sound to bad at all.

I went thru the pain and suffering of eating a big huge expanded mushy bowl of microwaved oats then finally I got smart and stopped putting them in the microwave.

Add oats to cup, add room temp water to oats, dash of cinnamon, dash of splenda then mix, let sit while you eat your egg whites then just kill the oats out of the cup... Simple as that.

Yogurt isn't part of my BB diet, though I love the stuff. Is a cup of greek yogurt in the morning with my oats and maybe a banana/whey blended in a good option for a cutting breakfast/PWO meal? (I always follow my workouts with whey/oats and egg whites/oats in the am). I guess I've always thought of yogurt as fatty, but truth be told, I know nothing about it. All good suggestions btw, u guys are the best.

Well normally when i follow a cutting diet i suck it up and eat the food no matter if it taste like crap or not. Over the years i have developed a mind set that in a way i dont look at food as yumyum time when im competing but more in the way of what can this meal do for me. I see it as fuel for my inner machines!! If you look at it that way its alot easier!!

By the way i stay clear of dairy when i cut. I didnt know how serious you were thats why i said yogurt, but i dont suggest that in a contest prep ever, its just a way to have you feeling like you are cheating!!

Mix one measure of oats to two measures of low fat milk. Bring to the boil and remove from heat. Quite nice on its own but I add a handful of raisins and a measure of whey protein and it is a great start to the day. Lots of different combinations:

    Honey
    Banana
    Raisins
    Yogurt
    Protein powder
    Cinnamon
    Etc.etc.

Alot of people dont eat diary tho.

You can grind them up and knock them back with water, which will raise the G.I slightly but not enough to matter to really.

Or do whatever people have said dont microwave them and eat them in water raw.

there's only so much you can do with oats, plus, you don't have to eat oats....they're not the only option for breakfast during a cut....

honey is a relatively high GI sugar....when compared to glucose at 100, it has a GI of 55, yet when compared to white bread at 100, it has a GI of 83....more importantly, it has a high GL as well
